Puppet Windows: msi packages removal
I noticed that is if I uninstall an MSI that was installed by Puppet,
Puppet does not notice.
Looking at the source I see it might be checking for a state file to
know whether a package is installed or not:
C:\ProgramData\PuppetLabs\puppet\var\db\package\msi\SplunkForwarder.yml
So one has to rememebr to delete that too.... Is this design not a problem?
Thanks,
Mohamed.

Windows Messenger
Can anyone provide me with a step by step on how to set up Windows
Messenger on a Windows XP Pro box as a SIP client with asterisk? I'm
interested in doing various tests of my asterisk server from the Windows
perspective of the world. In the alternative if someone could provide
information on another Windows based fully functional easy to configure
iax or SIP client that would suffice as

mangled filenames
Hi all,
I'm running Samba 3.0.31_1,1 on FreeBSD 7.0.
I have a problem where some files on the fileserver appear to have
illegal characters in them and so look mangled-up when viewed over Samba.
Here's an example, listing files over Samba:
rococo% ls PR
Archive
Awards
ACD76Y~N <-- Inhouse folder
AOBC8G~A <-- Outhouse folder
Listing the same files directly on the

smbd died when startet after slapd
Hello all,
yesterday i've rebootet our fileserver. Everything was fine. Samba up,
slapd up, getent passwd/groups working. Test-Logon on one Workstation ok.
This morning our users can't logon to the domain. Bad!
In many logs i got smb panics. Here's an example:
smbd:

Problems with samba 2.2.4
Dear Sirs.
I have here running samba 2.2.4 compiled on Redhat 7.2 with kernel 2.4.17
with ACL support on EXT3 (http://acl.bestbits.at) and winbindd.
Winbind works. I can ssh as a NT4 user and use samba network shares as a NT
user without username mapping. (no German special characters, no spaces in
user name).
1.
In smb.conf
veto files = /quota.*/lost+found/.*/
doesn't work

Anyone successfully using a HP 8000 DN or HP 5 Lsi (with JetDirect module

it work? FAQs
