MS Office 2000 cd key problem
I got Office installed fine with the product key. Worked very fast and I relogged in and it was sitting within Wine's menu all neat and ready to go. Then I open Word and it asks for the key again, I give it to it, but it doesnt like it. Keeps asking me until it finally closes out the program.
Is there a way to get around this?
Thanks!

Nondeterministic share connect failures
Hello
I have a Samba PDC in domain KEVF_D4 called OBERON and a NT4
workstation NEPTUN in workgroup (not domain, workgroup) WORKGROUP
I tried to map \\oberon\linux from OBERON using smbclient
\\\\oberon\\linux -U <username> and gave password and it worked.
I tried to map \\oberon\linux from NEPTUN and
1) got error message:

R studio web-based console ?
Hi all,
My console is no longer responding to commands, I''m using the web-based console running
off of a server. I have tried to interrupt R, I have deleted the data and profile files in the
user directory, and restarted the server, relogged in, flushed the cache on the browser,
but the console is not responding. I even move the .rstudio directory
When I try to run the code, it looks

Folder names
Running a pretty basic setup of imap +pop3 on version 2.1.10

Users are able to create folders in imap that contain "&" the folder on the
backend reflects "&-" as it should, you can list folder, but then when you
relog into imap then decides it can no longer subscribe to this folder due
to invalid UTF characters. Essentially allowing users to lock themselves out

Re: [linux-lvm] lvm deadlock with 2.4.x kernel?
I think I have this one solved, I hope.
I think what Andreas and I are running into are a few different
assertions. One being the LVM lvm_do_pv_flush caused assertion which is
related directly to invalidate_buffers() being called which then triggers
refile_buffer() on a journaled buffer, which appears clean in all other
ways according to the checks in refile_buffer().
The following is what

Direct Dial-Out and CDR destination numbers
Hi,
as German phone numbers are variable_length, I need to use direct dial-out.
The problem is that only the part which appears in extensions.ael (and thus
in the argument to Dial()) is logged to the call data record.
What I want, obviously, is for the Dial() app to append the additional
digits to the CDR's destination number.
Is that possible?

Out of file structure = new samba bug ? (2.0.4b)
Hi everyone,
As We use intensively samba, we recently upgraded from 2.0.3 to 2.0.4b
(containing new ACL support for NT).
However, as time passes, we encountered the following problems; for still an
unknown reason, the connection with some clients (NT) are dropped, and the
log files of samba indicates "Out of file structure" if file smbd/files.c,
function file_new(), line 85.

Hangs trying to lock locking.tdb ?
...; there is no close between the multiple 'connect' lines. The
older process still exists.
So I'm assuming something times out and tries for another connection.
An ethereal trace shows a NT CREATE packet and then very little else
from the server for the gap and then it looks like it relogs on.
So I took strace to the older of the processes and found it is stuck in:
  fcntl64(13, F_SETLKW64, {type=F_WRLCK, whence=SEEK_SET, start=284,
len=1} <unfinished ...>
13 corresponds to locking.tdb; this file is also on a local (ext3)
filesystem.
smbstatus shows many open services for...

XP SP2/Samba3.0.8 PDC/Directory Server 5.2 backend
Would anyone care to offer any theories (at this point I'll take
whatever I can get) as to why the following happens:
1. w2k boxes can join the domain perfectly, users can logon, life is
wonderful.
2. winXP boxes can join the domain perfectly, users authenticate fine,
the screen goes blue as if it is about to load up the desktop, the
system reboots.
3. Some errors upon relogging in with a

(2.3.5) ActionController::Base.session_options[:expire_after] + Error 422/Authenticity Token Issue
I''m getting ready to put an app into production and I''ve found a
strange issue that, as far as I know, shouldn''t be happening. To me
this looks like it could be a bug, but I''m not sure and I''m hoping
some one here can tell me if they''ve seen this before, or can idiot-
check me in that hopefully it''s just something I''ve missed

nobody nobody
Occasionaly folks with Samba network-mapped drives under WinNT 4.0
complain that "all of a sudden" they do not have write permissions
to directories/files in the network-mapped drive. Very strange, as
they were able to only hours before. I thought it may have
something to do with when I make a change to my smb.conf
and do a 'kill -HUP <pid of inetd>'. But that being the

the wu-imap-server.
dovecot starts and I can subscribe to my old imapfolders, but if I send

and restart Mozilla, the recently send mails are in my inbox.
We use also a webmailsystem, so I could verify that the mails are in the

Samba LDAP PDC BDC quit working
We have had a Samba LDAP-PDC-BDC system setup for close to 3 months with
about 60 computers in the domain. Earlier we had a power outage and
about 30 computers no longer were able to log into the domain or
authenticate. Some were NT Workstations and some were W2k. But not all
NT or W2K workstations were affected.
If we went to network neighborhood we would see the error message

winbindd error
Hi all!
In the var directory I noticed a log. file that contains:
nsswithc/winbindd_util.c:parse_id_list(711)

and
windbind uid parameter missing (anyone know what parm is
missing??)
I noticed in the log.winbindd file there's broken pipe errors which I hope
are related to the missing parm error.
thx,
john
