Occasionaly folks with Samba network-mapped drives under WinNT 4.0
complain that "all of a sudden" they do not have write permissions
to directories/files in the network-mapped drive. Very strange, as
they were able to only hours before. I thought it may have
something to do with when I make a change to my smb.conf
and do a 'kill -HUP <pid of inetd>'. But that being the case
I should think everyone with a network-mapped drive from the
same server would experience the problem. They do not.
Only sporadic people report th problem. Like 1 or 2 out
of 30 total users.
Any idea what this is? The only other evidence is that of the log file
for that system. I've included it below. Notice the change to
user nobody. The complaints begin after that happens. Why
does it happen? How can I prevent it?

The last entry represents the user, hamilton, re-establishing connection
correctly after logging off and re-establishing
his network-mapped drive. Awhile before, at 11:35:44, he was having
trouble...hence the conect as user nobody.
