Hello & a query to relieve some confusion about samba
Hi
I am new today here and have a couple of confusing items I hope someone
here o the list can straighten out for me.
1. The definitions of the served usershares apprears in more than one
location; in ubutu 12.04 LTS there appears to be a set of defined shares
in the /etc/samba/smb.conf file near the bottom, the second location
appears to be located in the file structure at

Wineserver is not shooting down
...e I have to use IE6 - Firefox is not handling the Web Site due to some reglementations.
IE6 runs fine and there are NO problems. Only after exit, the Wineserver keeps running and takes away a lot CPU Power. I can stop it manually (System Monitor -> Process. Right Click and I can stop it (and it relieves the Power from the CPU). But if I want to start some wine programs later, it's not starting to run.
Why (or how) can the Wineserver be stopped automatic after using wine ? How can I start Wineserver to run IE6 ? I tried wineserver -k . Does not work.
Thanks for any help.

[LLVMdev] Getting the pointer type from a Load/Store SDNode
I'm digging into this, but I'd like to know if it's feasible to get
to the pointer type from a Load/Store SDNode? This would relieve me
from having to put the address space information into those SDNodes.
Is Load/StoreSDNode->getSrcValue()->getType() going to do what I
want? If not, I can't see another way of getting to the pointer type.

absolute joy so far.
I''m an independent contractor/consultant who''s comfort zone is in
making admin websites to manage data. With this role comes making
little logos, drop shadows, title bars, image editing, and just basic
web stuff. Some of the work has been relieved by CSS, but once in
awhile I have to whip up something somewhat professional looking. I
also suck at matching colors for 2, 3, or 4 tone websites.
Any help?

the optimizer will reduce it to a ret int 0, which teach us nothing.
An option for disabing optimizations would be very helpful for
learners.
BTW, Simon, is there a reason for writing LLVM assembler and not
generating LLVM code directly? The later is simpler and relieves you
from some nasty burdens. It doesn't require you to generate SSA
conformant code, for instance. Relating to your present problem, it is
"natural" to code a loop without resorting to phi nodes.

ext3/kjournald overhead
...halted until kjournald is finished.
I read in an archive of a Linux Symposium on 20 July,
2000 by Dr. Stephen Tweedie that, at that time, actual
file data was being journaled as opposed to just
metadata. It looked like the plan was to fix that.
Has this been done? If so, what else can I do to
relieve this bottleneck?
I'm using this machine as a DV file repository, and am
capturing video to it in real-time, so any delay
spoils the capture session. Any clues?
TIA,

Support for GlusterFS
Hi,
Is there an option to procure support for glusterfs deployment. ? As we moving into core production scenarios with glusterfs in mind, it would be slightly relieving to have this confirmation !!
Thanks & Regards,

RFC 5574 and multiple frames
Hello all,
I am experimenting with Speex in a mobile VoIP application, and it seems
that it is worth stuffing more than one codec frame into a single RTP
packet; mainly, that sending several frames per packet relieves the
underlying network socket connection, which is notoriously problematic
in mobile devices.
RFC 5574 defines the exact way how to put multiple Speex frames into a
single RTP packet, and how to extract them again. However, the frame
boundaries are not on octet boundaries, and I am quite confuse...

Mutli-Homed Subnetting - Advice please
...tore both NIC IPs in the wins.dat file and that
it'll answer WINS queries from both subnet without a problem. Dynamic data
will be stored on the PDC so I assume this will be easy. Am I on safe

2) I plan to have a server on each subnet that will hold the static data
and act as BDCs relieving the load on the PDC. Effectively, the content
will be identical but as staff update data on one, is there a way of
binding the server shares together so one updates the other. I know you
can bind two drives on a unix box together with mount --bind. Has anyone
tried binding two samba shares toget...

Pango/cairo and symbol fonts
...'m running a fresh R 2.7.1 built from source, usually in en_GB,
but also tried in en_GB.UTF8. Running example(plotmath) generates lots of:
Pango-WARNING **: shape engine failure, expect ugly output. the offending
font is 'Symbol Not-Rotated ...'
Setting:
x11(type="Xlib")
relieves the problem, but I'd like to use cairo if possible. I have both
urw-fonts and liberation-fonts installed. I'm pretty sure it is my F7, not
R, and would be grateful for any advice. It's the same story with the png
device.

if that''s relevant.
When copying a large file over gigabit, I''m getting around 50MB/s burst
speed for about 30s, followed by a minute of 0B/s when btrfs-submit and
btrfs-transaction are at 99% IO in iotop but minimal READ/WRITE.
Is there anything I can do to relieve that? If more details can help,
I''ll gladly provide them.

You mean write C++ code that calls the LLVM library ?
I have a mild C++ allergy that I don't wish to aggravate.

Yes, i'm finding it quite hairy!
