questions regarding 40G Samba Server

Mysql 5.6, Centos 7 and errno: 24 - Too many open files

to /etc/security/limits.conf and modify the systemd script by hand.
Depending on how you start mysql (restart, or at systemboot time ...)
the limit get set or not.
Question: Is that may be a known bug or something?
And thats mit a question regarding mariadb or mysql.

File isn't in mbox format - error
...also after the migration.
My questions:
- Whats wrong?
- Why is there the "//"
a "more Trash" failed. After deleting this file and "touching" a new
one, the user can delete files.
The quota is 150 MB, the usere uses 100 MB at the moment.
Any ideas?

Oldies but Goldies - Dovecot 1.2 and Sieve
...to be used with SOGo soon.
What do I have to install / configure?
Is installing/configuring the dovecot-sieve-0.1.19 and
dovecot-managesieve-0.11.13 enough?
We still use mostly the default settings for imaps/pop3s.
And of course configure SOGo.

You suggestion for 'big' filesystem management Best Practice?
...filesystem crashes or has do be checked it
will destroy a lot of data or the check will take hours ...
Any suggestions pro or cons are welcome! :-)
My favourite for now is 3 to 4 filesystems with the default ext4
settings. (Redhat EL 5.7, may be soon 6.1)

strange diskspace consuming
...ould be bigger after that,
but from what I get with df, it looks like I'm loosing space.
Currently the tgz is saved on the same disk/mountpoint.
Any hint, why removing the maildirs dont free diskspace as expected?
It is still an ext3 filesystme

Error open(/var/lib/dovecot/db/shared-mailboxes) after update 2.2.10 -> 2.2.13
...ovecot 2.2.10 -> 2.2.13 and now I'm getting errors:
May 14 10:40:00 imap(hansdampf): Error:
open(/var/lib/dovecot/db/shared-mailboxes) failed: Permission denied
Currently the permissions on shared-mailboxes rw-rw-rw but teh error
still exists.

rsync stuck at +- 50 MB/s, cp and scp are +- 200 MB/s
...n etc I use. Even the plain default rsync is at that 50 Mb limit.
coyp by scp goes up to 200 MB/s.
Copy from and to my workstation with scp from or to both servers is at
1Gb limit (so +- 100 MB/s)
Why is rsync stuck at +- 50 MB/s ? Any suggestions hints ...

strange disk space calculation ext4 df and du
Hi,
in one server I do have a SSD raid 1 size 219GB.
df shows 9.4 GB free, 198GB used.
If I do "du -sch * | sort -h -r" on /, I just have close to 3.5GB used ....
Any hints, what's eating up the space?
Centos 6.6, fs = ext4.

What do you think?
Right now we run a iptables Shorewall system and had no problems so far,
but having a "managed" firewall distri which rocks whould be an alternative.

strange dropping of Word.doc-attachements - sendmail dovecot RHEL4
...versions don't have the problem.
The server is RHEL 4 (2.6.9-kernel), sendmail 8.13.1 and dovecot 0.99.
We use Mailscanner and spamassassin too, but as only the two users do
have the problem I'm looking for some help to track this problem down.
Any ideas??

RH 9, Samba 2.2.8 and Mac OS X Clients
...or into a newly created folder on this share, ther is an errormessage
saying, that the user has not the necessary access rights.... :-(
An other RH9 Server with samba 2.2.8 did'nt have this problem....
I controlled the writelist option, the directory permissions.
Any ideas??
