Some Vista Info reguarding Profiles
Hi All,
I just started really looking into deploying Vista in a Domain
Environment and here is some info I gathered so far:
With Vista, Microsoft Updated their "profiles" to version 2, thus Vista
profiles will not co-exist with previous Windows profiles. To alleviate
the need to specify a different profile for Vista, Microsoft decided to
automatically add a ".V2" to the

newbie question reguarding kerberos tickets
I recently joined a samba 3.0.22 server to AD. When I did the kinit,
the AD gave me a 24 hour ticket with a 1 week renewal. Setting -r and
-l to 365d did not change anything, the ticket still came back the same.
However, my question is in reguard to whether this is really even
needed? First, I deleted the ticket, and everything seemed to continue
to work perfectly. Now, I let the ticket expire

Password aging ...
Greetings ...
A quick question more to confirm a few things reguarding SMB passwords,
which I hope might be able to look at for password aging.
I saw some discussion on samba-tech list, but nothing conclusive.
LM and NT hashs don't have a salt? Do they? ... In other words, a
password "password" LM hashed, always comes out as

I can't find any bug report reguarding this problem; should I post one?
I can supply a minimal executable that reproduce the problem.
Thank for the attention and bye!

How NuFone.Net's customer service works.

phone call because the number had a weird message, also I emailed them
on 3/7/05 and asked about the problem it took them until 3/11/05 to
respond, I responded back to them and they ignored me until Today.
Finally I got someone on the phone reguarding this and they said "don't
bother us until after the 18th as we won't do anything, it says 10 days

have accepted the terms. They said so, we won't refund you and that we

[LLVMdev] [LLD] support for dlltool generated libs in COFF/PECOFF
...me to the end :)
So I have again turned my attention to LLD so that we can also remove ld as
a depend for this target
Previously I raised the issue that while lld would infact link exe's for me
the issue was the sections were malformed and thus crashed on launch.
I've done some debugging reguarding this and discovered it is due to
differences between what MSVC's lib.exe and binutils dlltool produces
I have attached a very simple .def file and generated libs via dlltool
along with an objdump -s log of the lib.exe version
I don't know too much about the internals of lld to be able to...

List Suggestion for routing/ipsec discussion
Since I believe that questions reguarding Linux routing and IPsec are
off-topic for this lists, can anyone point me to a good list for these
questions?
I''m trying to figure out the routing for a network containing a mesh of
IPsec tunnels. (We now have almost 40 tunnels.)
Thanks,
A.

iax show registry
Hello all,
In followup to the question that I posted last night, reguarding strange
activity from my 2 gnophone clients, at the asterisk command line
interface I type iax show registry. I don't know what is supposed to be
here but the only thing I see is the headings. It doesn't appear that
either client is registered with the server. Does this give any clear...

share /proc file system
Hello there!
How to configure samba (2.2.5) to let windows clients access the
server's /proc filesystem?
I already removed any "dont descent /proc" statement from config file.
Windows clients are able to list files in /proc but their size is 0
Bytes and the files are empty when opened...
Any hints?

ov_read() returns OV_EINVAL (-131)
Hi,
I'm new to mailing lists, so don't argue if I do sth wrong...
I'm coding on a C++ game with Vorbis- and 5.1-Surround-compatibily. For
two channels (stereo), everything's fine, but when I try to read a
6-channel-ogg, ov_read returns -131 (OV_EINVAL). That's strange, because
as the specification says, it only returns OV_HOLE or OV_EBADLINK as
errors [1].

is there a bandwidth limit per file?
Hello Everybody!
I set up a fileserver:
- Pentium II, 350 Mhz,
- 256MB RAM,
- Intel Fast Ethernet PCI
- VIA-SATA Controller
- 2x500GB SATA HDD RAID 1
- Debian 4, Samba 3
- Samba set up in user shares mode without special options, but with
the suggested optimizations
Clients:
- Windows XP Prof SP2
So far it works fine. I can read and write files without problem.
