ordered from earliest (4.5.2011- April, to 11.21.2011 - November.)
Does anyone have a suggestion for how I can correct this?
Thanks very much and my apologies if this has been covered before. I looked
before posting my question, however, and couldn't find anything.

As a matter of interest - qmail has the same problem.
This may not be a samba problem - but any suggestions that you may be able
to offer will be very well received (even rude ones)
Thank you again for reading through my dilemma

My apologies if this is an RTFM - a pointer to any documenation would also

Creating IMAP folders/subfolders with Thunderbird
Hi,
I have dovecot-2.2.15 on fedora21 with Thunderbird and having some
difficulty creating subfolders and deleting folders.
Creating subfolders results in a folder at the root with a caret instead
of a slash called folder^subfolder with an entry in .subscriptions with
that name, instead of a new folder under the directory.
I'm also unable to delete any folders. The command from within

Running scripts in hadoop
R-help group,
I'm looking for some assistance on using an R-script to read STDIN from
hadoop.
Example, say I have two tables. One is a student table, the other is a class
roster table (tables join on student_id). Student SAT score is in the
student table, whether the student passed or not is in the roster table.
So to determine if a student passed or failed based on their SAT score, I'd

I currently have the dovecot-core package from wheezy-backports pinned on one of my servers to version '2.2.9', which has been working great. I now want to upgrade that to the newest version under wheezy-backports which is:
dovecot-core (1:2.2.13-11~bpo70+1)
but I can't figure out how to get do it. I've tried a few different formats of the name but apt-get update then apt-get

Is there are way to also hide the Samba password hashes without breaking
Samba functionality? Say, by using some LDAP rights-management tool to
limit access to these attributes to certain accounts. Or does Samba require
these hashes to be generally readable?

Resizing lvm fails with fedora20
Hi,
I'm trying to resize a 15GB LVM root partition on a fedora20 server with
a fedora20 guest and I'm having a problem. Is this supported on fedora20?
I recall having a similar problem (maybe even exact same problem) all
the way back in fedora16 or fedora17, but hoped/thought it would be
fixed by now?

Outlook 2019 and IMAP
Hi,
We've just upgraded a few of our desktops to use Outlook 2019, and the
configuration is different from previous versions. There doesn't appear to
be any ability to specify a username in addition to the user's email
address.
The username is different than the username specified in the email address.
I had read about setting auth_username_format, but the user login name is

setup of dovecot as proxy to dbmail
Can anyone point me in the direction of a detailed how-to for setting up a postfix and dovecot (proxy) node with dbmail?
In particular I'm looking for a how-to which shows dovecot authenticating against the dbmail database directly.
The only example I've found is this one which requires a duplication of the user database.

Re: Slow network performance issues
Is the rsync a first copy or are you overwriting a previous copy. How fast is the transfer rate with scp?

Help with external snapshots as backups
Hi,
I have a win10 guest on a fedora32 system and have some questions as I
explore using external snapshots as a form of backup in case of a
Windows failure (as in, it won't boot or is completely irrecoverable) as
well as revision control (to be able to rollback changes after a failed
app install, etc).
The first hit on Google for external snapshots involves a RHEL7 document

Slow network performance issues
Hi,
I have a fedora21 system that's been running fine under normal network
activity, but trying to perform a full backup of the 300GB filesystem is
taking forever because the network speed appears to be very slow.
Using rsync, the transfer speeds reach a max of like 180kB/s. Using
rsync to copy files on the local filesystem is greater than 55MB/s, so I
don't think it's a disk

dsync - convert plugin missing?
I'm looking to convert my mbox mailboxes over to Maildir.
But when I try to run the dsync command: (changed with my variables)
dsync -u username mirror mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/username
found on this dovecot v2.X page here:
http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Migration/MailFormat
I get an error that it can't find the "convert" plugin.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.

Proxy and Master Config
I'm just sitting down to configure a Proxy & Master Dovecot setup with Postfix and virtual users.
I have read plenty about how to configure Dovecot as a proxy, but I'm unclear what's required on the "master" end.
Does the master need the -pop and -imap scripts? or does the proxy handle that and call -deliver on the master?
Can anyone explain the basic setup so I get it
