Release schedule
Hi Devs,
do you have an estimate for a new release date? We want to deploy linux
boxes which will include support for the newly contributed
phoenixcontact_modbus driver. As we would like to create a package for both
CentOS and an embedded Linux device we have, we would prefer if the package
was based on a official release.
If 2.7.5 is not coming soon (say 1 week) do you have a suggestion of a

...really know how well drivers and other bits behave on different hardware until you expose them to different use-cases. But if the bits you want are in upstream/master - they most probably already worked at least once for somebody interested ;)

Proposed new documentation "Configuration Examples"
...example is rather simple and is covered in original NUT docs and/or example config-file comments. Set up two driver sections in ups.conf, and an upsmon with two MONITOR entries powering one PSU each, and a single required power supply. That's about it.

Clarification to man upssched.conf
...much of the description posted there and an email to pass the URL (and maybe a pitch of the idea) and so stir up discussion in community?.. It is not too much hassle after initial repo-cloning setup, at least where people expect to contribute more than once.

Power Down ESXi before SAN
I have 2 APC UPS systems, one is connected to my ESXi host and the other to
my FreeNAS. The battery for the FreeNAS will run out before the battery
for the ESXi, so I need ESXi to shutdown first. If I wait until
BatteryLow on ESXI, it will be too late as FreeNAS will have already
shutdown. How can I change the configuration on ESXI to shutdown after a
small delay so that it is done before

NUT namespace: RFC for new variable addition
Hi all,
here is another one, related to ATS (automatic transfer switch) this time.
in order to track "dephasing" between input sources (1 and 2), I'd like to
add a new variable: "input.phase.shift"
Details and implementation can be found on:
https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/pull/433
Comments and feedback warmly welcome.
cheers,
Arno

Just in case, one thing that stands out in your post is nut-2.7.2. It is pretty old, meaning that newer releases or the github master can have more HW support. Did you try (or can you build and retry) your experiments with this newer code?

Clarification to man upssched.conf
I would like to add a sentence to the man page for upssched.conf.
After the sentence
"Note that any AT that matches both the notifytype and the upsname for the
current event will be used."
I propose adding the sentence
"If more than one AT matches the notifytype and upsname, the AT
declarations are executed in the order in which they appear in
upssched.conf.
This is the

Proposed new documentation "Configuration Examples"
My thought of #2 require none of that . . . I have a server with two supplies, and two UPS units. One supply is on each UPS, and clients are distributed otherwise to balance. The main thing is to ensure that it is documented accurately how to config so that the server only shuts down when the *second* unit hits low battery . . . I found the info on this topic almost nonexistent at present . . .

Powercom BNT-2000AP(USB)
Hello all!
Some days ago we received new UPS?Powercom BNT-2000AP with USB interface to replace an old staff and I've spent four last days trying to connect it with NUT. I have a FreeBSD 8.4 box with NUT 2.7.2.
# dmesg|grep -i powercom

Finally, as you would compile your own, consider taking the github upstream/master branch - it has quite advanced ahead of the latest official tarballed release.

SNMP Stuff/MIBs for CyberPower and APC UPSs
Build from source, and done . . . wasting your time looking for a less out of date RPM is pointless. . . RPM, .deb, etc are almost always downrev. . .
