WERR_DS_DRA_MISSING_PARENT while Joining Samba4 DC to Samba4 Domain
OK, we're getting closer here I think. I repeated with -d 2 without much help. Here is -d 3, which may point us in the right direction. As I suspected, it seems to point to some corruption in the DNS still, perhaps?
The key line seems to be here:
Missing parent while attempting to apply records: No parent with GUID 60e25dda-6d35-4aab-bfa5-6137cb271e27 found for object remotely known as

WERR_DS_DRA_MISSING_PARENT while Joining Samba4 DC to Samba4 Domain
Perhaps I'm rooting around at a lower level than I should be, and somewhat beyond what I can understand, but here is a bit of info I dug up. It might be helpful? The GUID in the first search matches the one referred to in the error message.
$ sudo ldbsearch -H /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb.d/DC\=DOMAINDNSZONES\,DC\=REDACTED\,DC\=DOMAIN\,DC\=LOCAL.ldb "(DC=DomainDnsZones)"

flood of (auth in progress) connections from unresponsive windows client crashing samba
We have been experiencing a debilitating 'bug' in samba where something is causing a flood of the messages seen below in smbstatus and the network drives ( in our case N: ) on all clients become unresponsive. In fact, the entire client becomes unresponsive, essentially making them unusable until samba is restarted. We first saw this and connected it to the following open bug in samba

WERR_DS_DRA_MISSING_PARENT while Joining Samba4 DC to Samba4 Domain
I thought I had posted already, but my first message may have been confusing. Here is the output of the domain join:

Finding a writeable DC for domain 'redacted.domain.local'

Bug: Dovecot appending "MISSING_DOMAIN" to fetch envelope responses
Hi all,
I'm seeing Dovecot include the string "MISSING_DOMAIN" in fetch
envelope requests when an mailbox's `addr-spec` part does not have a
`domain` part.
For example:
> C: a022 uid fetch 40 (envelope rfc822.header)
> S: * 5 FETCH (UID 40 ENVELOPE ("Sat, 15 Aug 2020 12:53:05 +1000"

Postfix : root and system user authentication
Hello everyone,
>From what I understand of the documentation, it is impossible to
log in to the dovecot server as root, or as any user not in the
interval between first_valid_uid and last_valid_uid.
I have been able to verify this.
However, when we have a postfix server on the same machine, that
delegates authentication to dovecot SASL according to the
configuration described at

WERR_DS_DRA_MISSING_PARENT while Joining Samba4 DC to Samba4 Domain
Yes, I am running 4.7.3 on both servers. One has been upgraded (many times). The new one, obviously, is freshly installed.
I am running DNS on the domain controller. In fact, I'm running all the default "server services". As I said, I have had some problems in the past, and for a while the DNS was not working (perhaps due to some database corruption) and I had to switch it off in

Bug: Dovecot appending "MISSING_DOMAIN" to fetch envelope responses
Any word about this issue? Should I file a bug in an actual bug tracker
or something?

failure joining a domain as a DC
Good evening!
I am having difficulty joining a Samba4 install to my current domain.
A little background, our DC1 box got blown away when we had a disk failure
on our VM server. We had a backup, but it was old and basically unusable.
I am trying to build a new DC1 and join it to the same domain as DC2
My current DC is DC2, it is a TKL Samba4 box running Samba 4.5.12-Debian.
I upgraded it's

Problem with Linux x86_64 RODBC and Netezza (PR#13889)

It appears that R closes my connection to the Netezza device before the Netezza

tracks the systems call made when running the test.r file, and clean_test.out
which is the output generated when test.r is executed. Notice how

WERR_DS_DRA_MISSING_PARENT while Joining Samba4 DC to Samba4 Domain
I am not able to join a second domain controller to the domain, though. Is this a samba bug, or is there something I can do to fix the WERR_DS_DRA_MISSING_PARENT error?

flood of (auth in progress) connections from unresponsive windows client crashing samba
I left in some of the parameters I've been testing commented out.
Interestingly, we've noticed another client triggering the same type of symptoms every morning at around the same time. Those symptoms being a line 'lookup_name_smbconf for COMPUTERNAME$ failed' and a flood of failed connection attempts from the same client. The issue seemed to resolve itself after a few minutes

WERR_DS_DRA_MISSING_PARENT while Joining Samba4 DC to Samba4 Domain
I have a Samba4 Domain Controller, which we have run in production since ~2009 (early alpha). It's had a few issues over the years which we've managed to recover from. I'm trying to join a second Samba4 DC to the domain, but having trouble when I issue the join. I have run dbcheck on the existing DC, which found and fixed some errors. There are still about 60+ errors like this:

[BUG] client state / Message count mismatch with imap-hibernate and mixed POP3/IMAP access
Hello,
this is on Debian Jessie box, dovecot 2.2.27 from backports,
imap-hibernate obviously enabled.
I've been seeing a few of these since starting this cluster (see previous
mail), they all follow the same pattern, a user who accesses their mailbox
with both POP3 and IMAP deletes mails with POP3 and the IMAP
(imap-hibernate really) is getting confused and upset about this:

NUT not shutting down one of three UPSs (sometimes none of them shut down)
I have three APC SmartUPS 5000s. Two of them are AP9617 and one is AP9619.
I have a RS-232 connections from my monitor host to all three. All three
report status and give information.
One of the two AP9617 - ups3-1 - does not shut down when FSD is sent. It
did when I first set this system up a year or two ago but it's stopped
doing so since then. Resetting the management interface does not
