Citation for R
This is just a note that R would get a lot more citations if the recommended citation was an
article in a recognised journal or from a recognised publisher.
I use R in work leading to publications often, and I strongly want to give the R core team credit
for their work. However I find that I can't persuade my biological collaborators to include the
current R citation (below) in their

Maildir
I noticed in Cyrus they seem to address maildir++ recognised by IMAP.
I need to know does Dovecot recognise this format?
Procmail has an ability to deliver mails to different folders which
if unrecognised renders the whole process useless.
Does Dovecot have a similar deliver method?
Thanks.

Recognising an unrecognisable scanner
I have to figure out how to use a scanner that sane doesn't officially recognise. Wine installed the twain software with no problems, and the apps come up just fine.
The scanner drivers should be installed in wine, but I'm having some serious issues getting linux to recognise that there's a device connected.
Is there any way to tell wine to see the device? If not, how would I pass

Why isn't R recognising integers as numbers?

'x' must be a non-empty numeric vector
Or
Error in hist.default(x, nclass.scott(x), prob = prob, xlab = xlab, ...) :
'x' must be numeric
How can it not recognise integers as numbers?
Thanks

DTMF wrongly recognised
Before I start ... I know there's been a lot of talk over the last couple of
days about the list being slow etc... I understand there were problems and
that mail is starting to get through now. Just wondering - should I be
surprised if something I sent 48 hours ago hasn't turned up at all? And
something I sent about 6 hours ago still hasn't turned up (yet). I'm just
curious

Linux Mint 21.3 client AD joined OK but no usb working
...his mean (self compiled)?
Basically what it says, you compiled Samba yourself

Yes, it shouldn't make any difference, the drives should be recognised,
but it sounds like it isn't Samba that isn't recognising the drives, it
is the OS.

Unless you used '--with-system-mitkrb5 --with-experimental-mit-ad-dc',
you will be using the default Heimdal kdc, just like the Linux Mint
Samba packages.

"sh" is not recognised as an internal or external comman d, operable program or batch file
That looks like the symptom of not following the documentation when trying
to build packages on Windows. (You have not stated the platform.) In that
case please check and see if you have the tools in Rtools.zip installed and
on the PATH.

virt-p2v not recognising Hard Disks of Server
Hello,
I am trying to convert a physical server (10 year old hardware with PCI
LSI Loging / Symbios LSI MegaRAID controller and SCSI drives, RAID 5
Configuration) into a Virtual Machine in oVirt (oVirt Version 4.1.8).
Host to be converted has Fedora 5 OS.
I have downloaded the virt-p2v.iso (Cent OS 7.3). I have prepared the
conversion server, set it up as a VM in oVirt environment. I am able

X100P not recognised on FreeBSD system
I've just received an OEM Wildcard X100P FXO card. Installing into my
FreeBSD 5.4-RELEASE box it doesn't appear to be recognised at all. Since
it's the first time I've put a PCI card in this machine I've just
dropped a Netgear ethernet card in to make sure there isn't something
fundamentally wrong with the motherboard, but that works fine.
Is there anything else I

recognise DW_AT_SUN_amd64_parmdump dwarf attribute
sun created this tag for identifying functions that dumped their
register arguments onto the stack.
this is enough for llvm-dwarfdump to recognise and print the attribute.
hopefully someone will commit it.
cheers,

Network cards not recognised
Hi,
We have a HP DL385 G6 server that is having an issue. Two of the 4
network cards are not being recognised by Linux.
We have quite a few other servers with the same hardware and no issues
but, before I call HP, I would like to make sure that I am not doing
anything wrong :)
I have tried with the kernel that came with CentOS 5.5 and the updated
one kernel-2.6.18-194.11.3.
I do an lspci

Wine 1.2. - dBpoweramp won't recognise cdrom
Hi folks.
I am trying to get dBpoweramp 13.5 to work on wine 1.2.
It doesn't recognise my cdrom (/dev/sg3). I tried pretty much everything to get it working. I tried it also on different machines.
Here is the discussion and a more detailed description what I tried so far at the dBpoweramp forum:

Autokey types a dir into open ile dialog but not recognised
I was playing with Autokey to automate the use of a Win app, but it seems that it is not recognising keystrokes properly. Not sure where the problem is.
If I were to open Notepad, and then use keyboard.send_keys("<ctrl>+o"), it doesn't work but manually pressing the actual keys, it does. However using the same command for a native app (say firefox) it does work. So perhaps...

App won't recognise action_mailer_tls plugin
.../bin/ruby1.8
rubygems 1.3.5 at /home/srdan/.gem/ruby/1.8, /var/lib/gems/1.8
Run `rake gems:install` to install the missing gems.
When I try running ''rake gems:install'' I get no output and trying to start
up the application again gives the same error. Why is the application not
recognising the gem, when it is clearly installed?
Thank you
