R compiled under windows 64 bit???
Hi, Any plans to realse in Cran binaries for R base & packages, for Windows using 64bit, now that the AMD 64 is coming out? It seems a perfect match for cost effective high performane number crunching?? Many thanks, Alex Gracian

Samba 3.0 Alpha
Does net rpc join work in SAMBA (using HEAD from CVS compiled this morning) Configured with ACL, with PAM, and with WINBIND. It seems that I cannot rejoin my domain (PDC is NT4sp6a) after I turfed machine.sid and secrets.tdb. I tried using smbpasswd first and was informed to use net join rpc instead. Logs available if needed. Thanx Hans

Cannot read or write to file in Linux Ubuntu
I am the proud owner of a new laptop since my old one died the other day. Currently I have a dual-boot Windows 7 Home and Ubuntu 12.04 . I'll leave the Windows problems for another post.
