Zaptel errors (power alarm?)
...rts. Just before rebooting this time I noticed these in our dmesg output....once the PBX comes back I'll get the times, but I can't help but think this must have something to do with it. Anyone? Do we need to have digium send us a replacement part? Ouch, part reset, quickly restoring reality (1) Power alarm on module 2, resetting! R-2.0.0 CMD check . and datasets
...ne I'm having a little difficulty with R-2.0.0 CMD check. My field is Bayesian calibration of computer models. The problem is that I have a large collection of toy datasets, that in R-1.9.1 were specified with lines like this: x.toy <- 1:6 y.toy <- computer.model(x.toy) z.toy <- reality(x.toy) in file ./data/toys.R ; functions computer.model() and reality() are defined in ./R/calibrator.R. [In this application, the (toy) functions computer.model() and reality() are the objects of inference, as per the standard Bayesian approach. The functions are nonrandom in that they are...

Mismatch between code comments and reality in malloc.h
Hi Devs, I've been doing some deep code diving and I seem to have found a discrepancy between code comments and reality. This difference could hint at a bug or performance degradation, but I doubt it. I thought to ask to get clarification. In syslinux/core/mem/malloc.h, the comments and definition for arena_header, ARENA_PADDING and free_arena_header are: /* * This structure should be a power of two. This becom...

Incorrect Total File Size
...ostname}::grids ${localdir} Since the file only changes several times a day, most of the rsync commands do nothing. Most of the time when the source file changes, rsync pulls the source file over just fine. Occasionally rsync will "think" it needs to update the destination file when in reality the source file has not been touched for hours. In those cases, the contents of the destination file do not change, but rsync still seems to "go through the motions." I noticed that rsync seems to think that the source file's byte count has changed when in reality it has not. The r...

Logit reality check
Hello all: I've been given the following data and have been asked to run a logit model using glm(). The variable, Y, is a proportion ranging from 0 to 1, X is a covariate. Without a base number of observations from which Y is computed as a proportion, I believe there is not sufficient information. If I try the model below, R seems to grumble with a complaint. glm(cbind(Y,1-Y) ~ X,

Could use some advice/reality check from someone knowledgeable
Have been experimenting with Asterisk for about 2 months now. Have developed a configuration that I feel is ready to deploy for our own in house use. Our primary motivation for considering an IP based phone solution is to provide connectivity to remote tele-workers that for all practical purposes emulates an office extension. As deployed, we will have an Asterisk server at our main office with

[PATCH]: Match Cygwin version check to reality
Hi, the following patch rearranges some checkings in bsd-cygwin-util.c to keep in sync with Cygwin versions. I moved the uname() check into it's own function so that it's easier to add further checks when necessary. PHP version not enough for developers
Kai, It is a reality, but when you look at the RHEL target audience, it's not exactly hip devs deploying Docker in the cloud. Big corps, banks and the like have a very slow development cycle and long term support is absolutely crucial, software needs to run for years on end without glitches, without interruptions,...

info about hdds in raid
How can I tell wich HDD to swap, when the "cat /proc/mdstat" says one HDD of the RAID1 array has died? Does the HDD's has some serial numbers, that I can see in "reality", and I can get that number from e.g.: a commands output? How could I know wich HDD to swap in e.g.: a RAID1 array? thank you -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... nls with plinear and function on RHS
...s, As part of finding initial values for a much more complicated fit I want to fit a function of the form y ~ a + bx + cx^d to fairly "noisy" data and have hit some problems. To demonstrate the specific R-related problem, here is an idealised data set, smaller and better fitting than reality: # idealised data set aDF <- data.frame( x= c(1.80, 9.27, 6.48, 2.61, 9.86, 5.93, 6.76, 5.52, 6.06, 8.62), y= c(24.77, 2775.07, 895.15, 60.73, 3373.57, 677.82, 1021.92, 542.84, 725.25, 2200.04)) And here are some starting values, far better than I'd have in reality # good starting values...

RFC: drop glamor from nouveau ddx
Ben, Looks like the reality is that glamor is just not hooked up properly in the nouveau DDX. Mainly it's missing DRI2, which in turn means no core GL contexts, and probably lots of other issues. While this could probably be fixed somehow, I doubt there's any advantage to using the nouveau DDX over something like mode...

I give you my example, and i'll be pleased to read your comments. #let be X a matrix 50*100: library(dr); X<- matrix(rnorm(50*100,5,1),50,100); #and let be Y a vector response: Y<- sample(0:1,50,replace=T); #I choose (for the expérience, but in reality i don't have it) a few variables #which are censed to explain Y: index<- sample(1:100,10); X[Y==1,index]<-10*X[Y==1,index]; #so now I want to proceed to a logistic regression, but I don't know the vector #"index". So I have to reduce the dimension of X, and that's why...
