random hangups on RBS T1
Hi, I have an asterisk 1.4.35 server with a Digium TE410P (1st gen) four port T1 card. Only one RBS T1 plugged into it right now. I have been getting complaints about random hangups. Endpoints are all remote, but I track very closely the latency (by graphing the output of "sip show peers") which normally shows me when a peer is having connectivity issues. Several that I have investig...

RBS T1 DID issue
Howdy, New installation, trying to connect an RBS T1 with AMI/D4 framing and E&M Wink. Using a Sangoma A102d and asterisk 1.4.22-2 on Centos5 (Trixbox 2.6.2.1). Outbound calls work fine, but inbound calls fail to read the DID information, and with debug set to 10 I get the following: [Feb 2 19:40:23] DEBUG[25184] chan_zap.c: Monitor doo...

Line color based on data values?

Calculating sum of letter values
...BCDA" = 1+2+3+4+1 = 11 Is there an elegant way to do this? Trying something like which(LETTERS %in% unlist(strsplit("ABCDA", ""))) is not quite correct, as it does not count repeated characters. I guess what I need is some kind of lookup table? Trouble with upgrading - RBS T1
...nstallation... was running 1.4.23.1 (Trixbox) with Zaptel 1.4.12.9 and a Sangoma A102D, which has been running fine for 5+ years. Customer getting anxious about hardware failure, so we built a new box and installed 1.8.24.0, Dahdi 2.7.0.1, and a new Sangoma A104D. The single active span is an RBS T1 B8ZS/ESF/E&M Wink. I tried to move one span over one night which was working fine on the old box. Once plugged in there were no alarms, Sangoma wanpipemon utility showed "connected". I tried calling in on a DID number, and in the 'full' log, with debug and verbose se...

zt_rbs errors!?! never seen before.
...ole. I unplugged the 4 PRI lines and rebooted. This time machine comes up. I logged in. While logged in, I plug the 4 spans back in. I try a few commands (like ls, ps) and then suddenly, the machine locks up again. Repeat but don't plug cables back in. Try 'dmesg'. And I see this: zt_rbs: Tried to set RBS hook state 0 on channel WPT1/0/1 while span WPT1/0 lacks rbsbits or hooksig function zt_rbs: Tried to set RBS hook state 0 on channel WPT1/0/2 while span WPT1/0 lacks rbsbits or hooksig function <snip> zt_rbs: Tried to set RBS hook state 0 on channel WPT1/0/23 while span WPT...

Asterisk Memory Requirements
...on a Dell 2850 dual-Xeon 3.0Ghz box with 2GB of memory. This is serving about 75 sip clients, Polycom500's and 600's. We are running into problems with the memory. Asterisk, right now, is using about 1.8GB of system memory. I am using Asterisk 1.0.7, Zaptel 1.0.7 with Digiums TE410 1xT1 RBS and 1xT1 PRI, Libpri 1.0.7 on Fedora Core 3. My question; is this normal or do I need more memory or is there a more serious underlying problem.

Status of the "bs" Package
The October 2006 R News had an article in which the authors discussed a new package that implemented the Birnbaum-Saunders distribution. However, the package (aptly named "bs") does not appear to be available for installation. Does anyone know the status of this package? Thanks. Tom La Bone [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
