Can't Connect With New Install
Thanks for your help. I followed your suggestions and I'm getting basically the same thing. I used your suggested smb.conf and created /home/pishare: <mypi>:/ $ ls -l -d /home/pishare drwxrwsr-x 2 root root 4096 Jul 7 12:17 /home/pishare "pi" is a Unix and a Samba user. Attempting to logon from Win 10 gives the same error messages. Testing the connection as suggested in

Can't get latest version for Raspberry Pi
...Raspberry Pi successfully running nut-server talking via USB to a Liebert UPS. It is running Version 2.6.4 which was installed ages ago following instructions freely available on the internet by A. Bakalidis I now see that the directory containing 2.6.4 in the repository at http://archive.raspbian.org/raspbian/pool/main/n/nut/ appears to have a build version also available of 2.7.2 - but no matter what I do with apt-get remove, purge, update, upgrade, install, (all the options!) it always seems to suggest that the only available version is 2.6.4 Can anyone enlighten me how to install a v...

llvm-toolchain-3.8 on lower arm targets, specifically Debian armel and Raspbian.
...oing for > pre-v7 hardware, which most of us prefer to pretend never happened > most of the time. > Thank you very much for your reply. Can you clarify what exactly compiler-rt is and how important it is to the stack as a whole. It seems that llvm-toolchain-3.7 built successfully on raspbian without building compiler-rt while llvm-toolchain-3.8 built an armv7 compiler-rt (and hence got blocked from entering the raspbian repos).

Any advice for installing Samba as an AD server on Raspbian Buster with BIND9 and ISC DHCP?
I'm looking for some general advice. I'm beginning to set up a Raspberry Pi 4 as a SOHO server with Samba on Raspbian Buster. I will be running as a member of an existing Windows AD (JOIN), then allow logging in from Windows and Linux clients. (I previously got Samba 4.11 to join my domain successfully using a Ubuntu VM.) I am also planning to install BIND9 DNS with dynamic updates using BIND9_DLZ. Also, a DHC...

Any advice for installing Samba as an AD server on Raspbian Buster with BIND9 and ISC DHCP?
...en install Samba and do the join? I personally would do it in stages, set up the Rpi, add Louis's repo and then join the AD domain. Install Bind9 and upgrade to bind9_dlz, finally install and configure dhcp. > > Is Louis's 'how-to' for Ubuntu still the best guide, even for Raspbian? There is a lot of difference between Raspbian and Ubuntu, Raspbian uses dhcpcd and Ubuntu uses netplan for instance. If I was doing this (I use my Rpi4 as a Unix domain member), I would remove dhcpcd and then set a fixed ip the old-school way with /etc/network/interfaces. > (The Samba wik...

nut on armhf, r-pi4b IOW
...r in the line cords path, it should run the pi for 30 minutes, and the standby will generally start in around 5 secs. So the problem should be solved. But it would be nice to be able to monitor it. So, can nut be built to run on an armhf platform? Mmmm, possibly silly Q, its available in the raspbian buster repo's. So I had apt install it. But the installer failed to start it, not surprising because its not been configured yet nor has whatever cable cyberpower needs been connected. The apt install log: pi at rpi4:/media/pi/workspace/rpi4-kernel $ sudo apt install nut Reading package lists...

nut on armhf, r-pi4b IOW
On my raspbian buster RPi3's that run nut, no problems with the stock nut packages provided so I wouldn't expect problems with your RPi4 once you get the cable and configs sorted out. I use the RPi3's as nut-servers to monitor and manage my Tripp-Lite UPS systems, the other local systems run nut-clien...

About your driver NUTDRV_ATCL_USB(8) for install
...at I think that contents this new driver. There are a few options, depending on whether you prefer packages, or if you need to install this quickly. One way might be to request a backport. I have no experience with this particular group, but you could try requesting here: http://sourceforge.net/p/raspbian-backports/suggestions/ Another way is to download the Debian source files for 2.7.2-1 from https://packages.debian.org/sid/nut (three links under "Download Source Package" in the right sidebar) and use 'debuild -us -uc' from the devscripts package. Since I needed to build from t...
