Greetings All,
I have found that Paul's book is just right for rounding out the edges
when getting started. I managed to temporarily migrate our T-1 Asterisk
system to a Analog asterisk system on information in Paul's book alone...

Watchguard Firebox 1000 woes
We are trying to setup a sip connection behind a Watchguard Firebox 1000 and
it is simply put...not working. The ports are all forwarded but the packets
are not going out. It is as if the firewall simply ignores SIP packets. Has
anyone seen this or have any idea what the issue could be? Watchguard so far
has been of zero help.

Hi
We are about to buy several Snom phones.
Does anyone have warnings or advices against these phones ?
Our finalists were Cisco, Polycom and Snom.
We will be using only the SIP protocol.

long pause on dialing..
I have an Asterisk setup with AMP installed. I have phone extensions
from 7000 to 7010.
I experience long delays when dialing a 9 digit number as opposed to a
10-digit number. How do you get around not having to press the # key to
speed up the dialing process? For any length phone number for that
matter-- like dialing another extension.
If I dial 7005, I'll have to wait a while.. but

OT (kinda): Justification for adding Asteriskto the business plan

Just to clarify, we make up the IT company and we'd be selling it to our
customers that may or may not be IT based. The company does run VoIP but
does not use Asterisk (using VoIP to add additional local lines in different
area codes).
What I'm trying to accomplish is a

Asterisk and flash disks
Hello
I see it is possible to buy Flash Disks up to 4GB now. Has anyone any experience of building an Asterisk system with a flash disk as the only storage device? Any brands you recommend? Is 2 or 4GB enough for an Asterisk installation? Typically how many MB is required for voicemail recording files for say a 10 user system? What about voicemail - I suppose files could be emailed and
