Any interest in a patch for setting the syslog facility for the ssh client?
Hello,
I recently made a change to the openssh ssh client code to allow
configuring the client syslog facility to use. I made the change in
openssh-6.6p1. If there is interest I can port the change to the openssh
portable github.

"ssh -Q key" does not list rsa-sha2 algorithms
With the upcoming deprecation of ssh-rsa I was trying to see what keys my
version of OpenSSH ( 7.8p1 ) supports. I noticed that "ssh -Q key" does not
actually list the suggested algorithms to transition to ( rsa-sha2-256 and
rsa-sha2-512 ) even though they are supported. Looking through the code, it
looks like an issue with the arguments passed to sshkey_alg_list in ssh.c
where it should

Similar, though I named it rcp because nobody has the real rcp installed
any more, but sometimes I need scp to connect to systems that lack rsync.

Deprecation of scp protocol and improving sftp client
It seems that there are a few camps here:
* The scp power users - this camp believes that scp supporting backtick
notation is fine and that running arbitrary commands is a perfectly fine
thing to do.
* The restricted shell users - this camp believes that scp supporting
backtick may not be the best, and there are various restricted shells which
can prevent this. Power users may belong to this

Comment syntax and strange partial rendering
Using rails 2.3.2 I have a partial _foo.rhtml that begins with a comment
as follows:
<% # here is a comment %>
<li><%= foo %></li>
When I render the partial from a view in the traditional way, e.g.
<% some_numbers = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] %>
<ul>
<%= render :partial => "foo", :collection => some_numbers %>
</ul>

An FXO version of IAXy?
Hello--
In the interest of Symmetry, does anyone else in the world see any need
for a device like the IAXy (or the SIP ones from other manufacturers,
like the ATA186), but one that presents an FXO interface instead, so it
can be connected not to phones, but the PSTN?

Asterisk Users Mailing List Traffic
The volume/traffic on this list has been getting pretty heavy. I find
it hard to follow certain discussions and there are some that I am not
interested in. Perhaps, we could split the list into two: One for
discussing hardware (client phones and cards) and one for the software
(configuration, problems, etc...) Or some other better scheme that
someone can propose.

best way to set default for an optional local in a partial?
What''s the best way to set the default value of an optional local
variable in a partial template?
In the past I''ve used
<% foo = default_value unless (defined? foo) %>
But http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActionView/Base.html says *not*
to use (defined? foo) and instead use (local_assigns.has_key? :foo) thus
<% foo = default_value unless (local_assigns.has_key?
