icecast 2 testing
hello, could someone test the my icecast 2 server? there should be a stream at http://real.radiostudio.org:8000/vorbis, but I'm not able to listen to it. I don't know if the problem in winamp or in icecast or in my streaming application. You could also send a stream to it, it's the default icecast password. I would be very happy if someone could test it :)))))) mörk --- >8 ---- Lis...

bug? ogg123 and mono files
hello, I try to listen to the stream at http://ogg.radiostudio.org:8007/ostream.ogg with ogg123, it's a 44100/mono stream. It sounds to me like a mono file played as a stereo file. there are very often silent drop outs and the music is pitched. is this a bug in ogg123? I changed to stereo encoding and know it's better (normal pitch without silence...

why does it sound so strange
hi, what makes the stream at http://ogg.radiostudio.org:8007/ostream.ogg sound so strange. I don't complain, I just want to know the reason for this (is this pre-echo?). mörk p.s.: the stream will be online for the next couple of days. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/...

RE: Audio broadcasting... (fwd)
Hi vorbis dudes, I've been trying to encourage vorbis use for a somewhat well known person who is doing a weekly internet "radio" program. I guess they are finding out that WMA isnt too cross platform :-) Was wondering if someone could help out with these questions... The encoding platform is windows... Is vorbis suitable for 33.6k/56k streaming yet? Would be a good opportunity

low-bitrate streams and pure Java Ogg Vorbis player
.../www.jcraft.com/jorbis/player/JOrbisPlayer.php?play=http://foo/bar.ogg Of course, if you hesitate to run such a digitally signed applet, you can download the source code from http://www.jcraft.com/jorbis/ and generate binaries by your self. At last week, I had enjoyed low-bitrate streams from www.radiostudio.org by JOrbisPlayer, however, it seems they have stopped the service. If you know the radio stations, whose streams are in Ogg Vorbis, please introduce to me. I will list those sites on above page. Of course, any comments and suggestions are also welcom. Thanks, -- ymnk, JCraft,Inc., mailto: ymn...

Ogg streams from JRoar for testing.
Hi folks, I'm developing ogg streaming server JRoar(http://www.jcraft.com/jroar/). At present, two JRoars are running at following URLs, * http://ogg.radiostudio.org:8000/ * http://61.207.105.109:8000/ and you will find some streams on them. If you have ogg vorbis player, please try them. The newest source code is available at http://www.jcraft.com/jroar/jroar-0.0.5-pre8.zip JRoar has not been so stable, but I have continued efforts to improve it. Any...

Vorbis support in Winamp
I would like you guys to test the latest version of my plug-in: http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.zip This one is considered the final version and there are no known bugs in it, but you might be able to find some. quick notes: * HTTP seeking is as slow as hell, don't use it. * UTF8 stuff should (finally) work correctly now. -Peter PS. Better genre editor user IS being worked on.

ices stdinpcm
I have problems with the stdinpcm module in ices2. The player fills its buffer and doen't play anything and fill the buffer again and this repeats (with winamp). when I download the stream with wget I can play it from hard disk... is this a common problem with ices2 or do only I experience this behaviour? the oss module works. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/

live streaming (from microphone to HTTP)
Can anyone share some ideas or point me to some documentation on how I can easily begin streaming live audio? My input would be /dev/audio (my microphone or soundcard input). Is there some type of small HTTP server that can use this /dev/audio piped through oggenc (or the ogg vorbis library built into the httpd)? Or do I use a FIFO and any regular httpd? (I am running NetBSD.) Thanks,

DarkIce make problems

I'm compiling in a Solaris 6 OS with gcc 2.8.1, and I've installed lame and Vorbis libraries. This is my config phrase: ./configure --prefix=/aplicacions/icecast-1.3.12/darkice --with-lame --with-vorbis
