TFTP forking thousands of processes
...ooted. Checking
various logs and especially atop files showed, that minutes before the box became
unreachable, number of in.tftpd processes has grown to ~4000. Checking pcap files
showed that phones were sending file requests, but were not getting any replies
thus retrying every 5s (so tftp request rade growed to ~100files each 5s).
We were trying to simulate the problem on test virtual guest and successfully
reproduced it:
- VM got setup as tftp server (tftp started as xinet service, details below)
- on host, we've blocked all outgoing tftp traffic using iptables.

Fw: Re:simple(?!?) source routing
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Thats where the problem starts. If I set ppp0 as
the
default gw the internet doesnt work anymore. This is how im doing it...
route del default
route add default gw 217.32.81.74 dev ppp0
if I put it back to ppp1...
route del default
route add default gw 217.32.68.73 dev ppp1
It works fine again. Whats up with that?
Cheers,
Chris

I''ve set up a Linux box with redhat on to act as an internet gateway and I''m running into a few problems. Its got two adsl modems connected to it, both connected to seperate 512kbs lines. Now I''ve followed the simple source routing in the advanced routing howto to the letter but it doesnt work.
I''ve got it autoconnecting on startup and redhat puts ppp1

PXE/NFS looks for CDROM when starting a recovery
Hello all!
I try mondo/mindi for some days now but it does not
work and I don't know the reason.
It is an intel Suse-8.0 Client and I use the Suse-8.0
packages from ftp.mondorescue.org.
dhcp and tftp work fine. mondoarchive works, but I
don't find any initrd.img for pxe/nfs. All initrd
I have found ask for a CDROM and as they cannot
find any they ask for a floppy when starting the
pxe
