Unknown Files in /tmp
...rd, but, the ring tone for calling/receiving
had stopped. I most certainly made no changes to skype's configuration.
Today, whilst snooping around my laptop, for numerous things, I came
upon some files in /tmp, which I don't recognize,

RPM for postgresql 8-* for CentOS4?
Hi All,
is there an RPM for 4-1 for postgresql? I did a yum, and the latest is
only 7-4
Installing:
postgresql-server i386 7.4.8-1.RHEL4.1 base 3.0 M
and I need at least 8-*
Any ideas where to find an RPM for CentOS4-1?

3) While compiling, be able to execute arbitrary code at compile time. The
simple case will be to get a value, similar to C++ constexpr but without any
restrictions. The complicated case will be to support a full macro system
similar to syntax-rules in Racket or defmacro in Lisp.
For (1) I would require being able to execute a function at a time. I would
also like to be able to discard temporary functions used just to get a
value.
For (2) and (3) lazy compilation is required, catching the results would also
be great.

Can't Access Samba Running Linux Box From XP
Hi All,
I've just installed Samba on a Linux box, and can see the Windows box
attempting connections, but, when inputting the username/password, I
keep getting the same user/pass prompt window. What should I
troubleshoot for this? I gave the user/pass that is the same as the
account on the Linux box, which has permissions to view the shared
directory in /etc/samba/smb.conf. Cheers.

Default CentOS(Redhat) iptables, Secure?
Hi All,
whilst not being an expert on iptables, the below ouput of iptables -L
seems too insecure to me. Does anyone agree.? Perhaps I'm not
understanding it as well as I think I am.? Please give your thoughts on

Is Rails a good place to start for a newb to the database
...o the database world ??
I need to make a database that is searchable with multiple filters that
can be turned on and off at a moments notice kinda like java xhtml
dynamic loading..
I have not worked with php or mysql much more than basic scripts running
and website defaults. so I am new to the racket and want to pick
something that is robust and fast to implement and learn...
If so , what would be a good book to snag from the book store ??

I am building bindings for LLVM in Racket, and was wondering how does memory management work for the C API. I'm guessing that when a module is disposed of all of the instructions and functions that were inside it are no longer valid, similarly with contexts and types. But what about when I delete a function, are all of the instructions...

Open CallerID Database?
Hey Guys,
I'm curious if there's an interest in a free, CallerID database? For those
of you in the same spot we are, our current provider only provides us with
the CND, excluding CNAM.
Would creating a public database, managed by users be worthwhile to anyone?

Verizon-Vonage Lawsuit
May be slightly off topic, but I was wondering what everyone thinks of this
latest ruling against Vonage? Does anyone really know what Verizon hold
patents for, and could those patents possible affect anything in Asterisk?
