Updating RAA
I realized we might want to update RAA to mention wxruby2. But should it
be a new "wxruby2" entry, or should we add mentions of wxruby2 in the
existing entry, or should we switch the entry to only talk about wxruby2?

PayPal WSDL API on Rails anyone ?
Hi !
Has anyone connected to the Mass Pay API of PayPal using Rails ? I
need to do this for a customer, and I wanted to know how easy/hard it
was. I have no experience using SOAP, WSDL, etc.
I saw soap4r[1] on the RAA[2]. This is probably what I''ll need to
use. One question I haven''t answered yet is whether soap4r will
accept PayPal''s certificates ?
Thanks for any information on this topic.
Have a nice day !

wxRuby is now linked from the wxWindows site
I sent a message to Julian (the primary author of wxWindows), and he
immediately added wxRuby to the list of "Related Projects" on the
"Community" page of the wxWindows site:
http://wxwindows.org/
Thanks to Gour for suggesting this.
We are also listed in the Ruby RAA, under Library, GUI.
If anyone knows of other places we should be linked, let me know. Or
better yet, if anyone wants to volunteer to be the "publicity
coordinator", that would be great. I''m sure I''ll forget to update the
RAA listing when we update each version, for...

Need volunteer for cool RubyForge add-on
You''ve probably been reading the ruby-talk thread I started titled "RAA
Status & The Problem with Ruby" that rehashes that age-old conversation we
keep having about how to tell the good from the bad when it comes to ruby
libs and apps.
We now have an opportunity to stop talking about it and actually do
something.
I proposed a RubyForge add-on to create a use...

Using mocks
Hi,
What's the purpose of test/mocks? I couldn't quite complete the Wiki
entry on this because all the information I _could_ find was in the
readme.

Ruby OpenID library and OpenIDLoginGenerator
Version 0.9.2 of the Ruby OpenID library has been released. This latest
release contains a port of the rails LoginGenerator (OpenIDLoginGenerator)
that uses OpenID for authentication.
Read more and download the library:
http://www.openidenabled.com/openid/libraries/ruby/
http://raa.ruby-lang.org/project/openid/
A bit about OpenID:
OpenID is a URL based identity system. An OpenID identity is simply a URL,
and all the OpenID specification does is provide a way to securely prove
that you own that URL. This sytem opens the door for all kinds of cool
things like single-sign-on a...

FW: Watir needs a Win32GUI library
...d be
better
off using a general Win32 GUI testing library than trying to build a
peice
of it ourselves.
Perl has a really good Win32-GuiTest library.

There is also a Ruby port of this, but it uses Cygwin and appears to

been abandoned.

We need something that works with MSWIN. Can you help us?
So far we have had some suggestions. One person suggested that we just
use
the Perl library. Another has suggested that we use AutoIt. But
personally
i would prefer a Ruby solution. Surely i''...

New packages?

What do you think we should tackle next? What interests you? Different
mutex flavors? IE controllers? Exchange interfaces? I think we should
probably look a little more at what Python has going forward, too.
Just a thought.

PS - Park, did you get my email about authorship on the RAA for the event
related packages? What do you think?

I''m the author of the roo gem. Roo can handle such huge spreadsheet
files without problems but it may be very slow. You can try if it is
fast enough for your purposes.

Problems with some components of R
...or message stating that an underlying Fortran program is not
properly loaded.
Morever, I had previously downloaded the R.0990a.tgz version,
split it with the software available on Unix ( I used' split -b 1425000
R-0.99.0a.tgz R'), and passed it to my computer using 'copy/b
Raa+Rab+Rac R.tgz'. If the decompression seemed to have run smoothly, I
could not even start since I was unable to find the Rterm.exe. In fact
there were no bin file inside the rw0990 file.
I am seeking your help as I have no idea of what went wrong in
these two cases. Thank you....

NT PDC to Samba PDC migratio
I thought that it was quite impossible to do that due to the Domain SID
as well as the SAM list that currently Samba is unable to retrieve. (Not
that it would have helped me any, since our old NT 4.0 PDC took a major
Hardware failure.)
How would one duplicate the SID, is that possible with 'smbpasswd -S'
from the new Samba DC?

<% if ... -%> What is this?
I seen some RoR code that went like this:
<% if ...blah, blah... -%>
.. blah, blah
<% end -%>
What are the minus signs for in the if statement? Cannot seem to find
anything about this, and searching on "-" in this context is hard to get
anything meaningfull back.
Thanks,
- Mark
