Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
The mystery gets more interesting... I now have a CentOS 7.3 Dell R710
server doing the exact same thing of rebooting immediately after the Xen
kernel load. Just to note this is a second system and not just the first
system with an update. I hope I'm not introducing something odd. They only
"interesting" thing I have done for historical reasons is to cha...

I''m continuing this message
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2010-11/msg00166.html
I''m 100% sure that a fresh install of Squeeze (as of last week) with Xen
4.0.1 and Debian''s -xen-amd64 kernel results in an early reboot on a
Dell R710. I haven''t captured any logs about the crash so I''m not sure
if it has something to do with this. I''m hoping to do this tomorrow.

compiling a non-pae dom0 on a dell r710 with too much ram
Hi,
I''ve got a brand spankin new dell r710 with loads of memory on it,
except that I really want it to behave more like an older machine with
only 4G of RAM. I''ve been trying to compile a dom0 without PAE for it
and can''t seem to have much success. I''ve constantly modified the
kernel config to turn off PAE and i...

I have tried the first. siaddr/file only.
I have not tried the second. Let me try. OK, just tried. Same. Good
suggestion however.

UEFI PXE / split config / TFTP attempted to DHCP server, not TFTP server
...ot;DORA" conversation with
the DHCP server fine. (DISCOVER-OFFER-REQUEST-ACK).
Then it attempts to TFTP from the DHCP server instead of the TFTP server!!
(Which of course fails.) This only occurs with UEFI; under BIOS boot it
properly requests from the TFTP server.
My test server is a Dell R710 server, which is a 3-4 year old server. It
does
BIOS boot by default, but will do UEFI boot.
Here are the relevant DHCP options I have set in my UEFI pool:
next-server (BOOTP flag) -- set to TFTP server's IP address
filename (BOOTP flag) -- set to UEFI NBP's full path

Bug: config parser broken in ff78e2b62a45f18c0d427153f957d2f06c0f5c1c
...END aren't working anymore.
KERNEL works fine, but append is missing.
KERNEL linux.c32 APPEND vmlinuz initrd= does work however, but not with
IPAPPEND
I don't know what other features might be broken but I noticed these as they
are relivant to my environment. On a side note, for the Dell R710, I needed
syslinux-3.74-pre3 in order to boot it as the R710 has so many intergrated
devices that it runs out of memory.

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
As a follow up I was able to test fresh install on Dell R710 and a Dell
R620 with success on CentOS 7.3 without issue on the new kernel. My new
plan will be to just move this C6 to one of the C7 I just created.

4.2.2 pci-passthrough crashes Dell Poweredge R710
Hello everyone,
i just updated from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2. If i try to fire up my win2k8 domU
with a pci device attached, the dom0 machine hardcrashes.
my system log (idrac) shows the following:
CPU 2 has an internal error (IERR).
A bus fatal error was detected on a component at bus 0 device 0 function 0.
CPU 1 machine check detected.
and plenty of other entries. The machine hardresets then.

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
Updating my CentOS 6.8 Xen server with new 4.9.13 kernel yields a kernel
boot message of a few like "APIC ID MISMATCH" and the system reboots
immediately without any other bits of info. This is on a Dell R710 with
64GB RAM and 2x 6-core Intel CPU's.
As an additional test, I installed and attempted to run the current
"testing" kernel of 4.9.16 with the exact same results.
Anyone have an idea? The 3.18.x series runs without issue of course.
Thanks
PJ

That sounds like a compiler problem, since I think the C6 and C7 kernels are built from the same source.
