Final R3000XR tip
On the basis of continuing experience, one final piece of R3000XR
battery pack advice:
After swapping the R3000XR battery pack, power-cycle the UPS, wait until
the battery pack is at least 50% charged, then disconnect the UPS from
wall power for a minute or so before plugging it back in. Until I did
this, my UPS would charge the battery pack fully, then let...

HP R3000XR charge level
This is not a NUT question per se ... or at least, I don't think it is.
I just replaced the battery pack in my HP R3000XR; the new batteries
were shipped with 90% charge, were at about 87% when they went in, and
were up to 98% charge the next day.
Last weekend, the server that runs NUT went down for no apparent reason,
wiping out its boot blocks, corrupting its boot archive beyond repair,
and forcing an OS reinst...

FYI: HP R3000XR
I posted earlier about a problem with a HP R3000XR that was showing
abnormally low charge a couple of days after replacing the battery pack.
For those with R3000XRs, the progblem seems to be:
(1) while you CAN hot-swap the battery-pack on an R3000XR, the UPS
automatically goes into bypass mode when you do so;
(2) it doesn't necessarily...

New NUT user with HP R3000XR problem
Greetings,
I've just installed nut-2.4.1 on a Solaris 10 x86 machine to monitor a
HP R3000XR UPS.
SunOS babylon4 5.10 Generic_138889-08 i86pc i386 i86pc Solaris
First of all, I encountered a single problem during the build. After
configuring, drivers/Makefile ends up containing the following line:
LIBNETSNMP_LDFLAGS = -R../lib -L/usr/sfw/lib -lnetsnmp -lgen [...]
This is clearly wro...

2 different APC UPS using USB get in power off recoverable state
...eb 8 03:49:55 PST 2010 armv5tel GNU/Linux
I have hand installed Network UPS Tools upsstats 2.4.3 from source.
ups.conf:
[apc1500]
driver = usbhid-ups
port = auto
serial=AS0535132782
# powers switches and routers
[Smart-UPS_3000]
driver = usbhid-ups
port = auto
serial=JS1030003421
[R3000XR]
port = /dev/ttyUSB0
driver = bcmxcp
The R3000XR did work, but neither apc1500 nor Smart-UPS_3000. I tried restarting nut, I tried in other linux servers (just plugging in and seeing dmesg). Nothing helped. So I scheduled downtime and powered off the UPses. That did help, and since that nut h...

HP/Compaq Rackmount UPS Support?
Hi,
I have an HP R5500XR and a Compaq R3000XR that I would like to use with nut.
I searched the compatibility lists and the mail list archives but couldn't
find anything.
They both have 9 pin serial ports.
Can anyone give me any information about them, and if they are supported by
nut?
Thanks,
Denny Fox

NUT upsstats.cgi problem
I seem to have NUT all working with my R3000XR, except for the CGIs.
The webserver's all properly configured and upsstats.cgi *runs*, but
doesn't yield any useful output - no values are displayed, every value
is replaced by [error: Invalid argument]. Apache is not logging any
resulting errors, and there doesn't seem to be a lo...

multiple usb apc smart ups with nut?
Hello everybody,
I got tree UPS devices connected to a Debian server, and i am
searching for a way to configure them.
The server power-cord is only connected to one of the ups devices, and
should monitor the other ups systems to sent email status.
I got a HP R3000XR UPS with has a RS232 communication port that I have
working perfectly.
Then I have two APC SmartUPS 750V devices that are connected with USB,
but I don't know how to setup the nut configuration to deal with both
the devices.
This is my dmesg output:

bcmxcp: get right firmware version
at least for an HP R3000XR with the 6-cereal card, the first CPU is
said 6-port card, not the inverter. so get the firmware version from
the last CPU, not the first.
I wonder wether it makes more sense to store them all, aka
ups.firmware.cpu0 etc.

HP R1500 G2 UPS
Hi,
I have a HP R1500 G2 UPS and want to get it working under Debian Lenny - as this OS is not supported by HP I'm
trying to use nut for it - but I can't get it working.
Do I have any chance to get the UPS running with nut. I also tried different drivers but had no luck either.
Or does anyone has experience with HP UPS under debian ?
Any help would be nice !
I tried

A logging/graphing UPS client using rrdtool and UPS::Nut
...y voltage and current, and output voltage and current. It
uses rrdtool to generate three sets of graphs charting these parameters in
a 24-hour high-resolution view and a 7-day medium-resolution view.
This is a proof-of-concept tool, and is written specifically for the operating
parameters of a HP R3000XR UPS, which is a transformerless DSP design using a
line-voltage battery pack. You may find you need to modify some graph parameters
if you have a transformer-based UPS using a low-voltage battery pack.
