Could I get write access to

things I'd like to copy over from my CentOS4 R1000 page.

R1000 Driver for RTL8110SC NIC on Biostar I945G-M7
Executive Summary: Realtek has an r1000 driver for the rtl8110sc NIC at
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads
I've posted this in the forums but it looks like all the action for CentOS
really happens here on the mailing list. Plus I hope this might help some
other lost soul since google failed to connect this motherboard to *any*

r1000 Driver
I'd like to add a page for the Realtek r1000 NIC driver for the RTL8110SC (and
others) chipset. This driver is not included in the kernel. I've previously
posted to the general mail list:
http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/2007-February/075383.html
I'm guessing this would go in the HardwareList section. Otherwise a page

r8169 Update
Bill, your CentOS 5 RTL8110 page should probably be updated. I've confirmed
that there's a newer r8169 driver in the kernel that works with the RTL8110.
RealTek's web site now carries the new r8169 instead of the r1000.
The newer driver fixed a problem I was having on one host so we should
probably recommend it over the older r1000.
I've updated my CentOS 4 page.

tablegen dag syntax question
...he RISCV backend record dump. There will be a
substitution at some point for $rd. In the second, I'm specifying R2, no
substitution necessary.
If I specify GPR64:R2 or i64:R2 in my Instruction def, rather than just R2,
tblgen complains:
error: expected variable name in dag literal
If I use R1000 (which isn't defined) I get what I'd expect:
error: Variable not defined: 'R1000'
There isn't any documentation (that I could find) for this syntax.
Consequently, I'm a little worried that using R2 rather than something:R2
is somehow wrong.
Why does the RISCV dag use GP...

Problem with CentOS 5.1/xen/RTL8110
...hen I get what I would
consider normal network access to the xen machine.
Hardware: Gigabyte GA-G33M-S2H MB (Realtek R8110SC onboard nic)
OS: CentOS 5.1 64bit Xen
I installed CentOS last night with the Xen kernel, the stock kernel did not
support my nic which I was aware of. So I downloaded the r1000 source rpm
from the centos wiki, built and installed it. Once I did that the card was
detected (an ifconfig would actually display eth0), but it would never get an
IP address (the xen machine is configured for dhcp at the moment). Today, I
installed the non-xen kernel, applied the non-xen r1000...

RTL8111 Wiki Pages
Howdy,
It appears that CentOS 5.2's support for the RTL8111B/C chip is incomplete.
The wiki has some blanket statements regarding this support:
http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/HardwareList/CentOS5/RealTek/r1000
http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/HardwareList/RealTekRTL8111b
I could dive in an make the changes *I* think need to happen but I'd like to
talk to people first.
The gritty details:
Last night I attempted to install 5.2 x86_64 on a new Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L.

rpm for r8168
...t does not work with the stock driver included in Centos 5.1 and
b) I am very lazy and I do not like manually compiling modules each time
a new kernel is installed (not to mention that I never forget anything,
except for the important things which always go under the radar unnoticed)
I ripped the r1000 rpm from rpmforge and created a dkms based rpm for
the r8168 driver.
Since others might find a use for it too, I have uploaded the rpm
(and it's corresponding source) at
http://wolfy.fedorapeople.org/dkms-r8168/. I am also thinking of linking
to it from the above mentioned wiki page. Wh...

Network problems with Centos 5 xen kernel
...xen kernel. Is this a problem - and if so
- how do I stop it from running? How do dnsmasq and dhcpd both function
without breaking each other?
Now some detailed background:
The machine uses a Realtek 8111B network adaptor - and this has been a
problem all along. I used to manually reinstall the r1000 driver
(apparently the correct driver for the adaptor) every time the kernel
was updated. Tedious - but it worked. My xen kernel worked fine. Some
months back - a bunch of updates came through corresponding to the
release of Centos 5.1 - and my normal driver re-install didn't seem to
get t...

Auto-pickup cisco phones
Is there anyway to force an autopickup on a cisco 7940 / 60 from the
dialplan ?
My problem is that I am originating a call from the AMI, with the
internal user being called first, and then connecting to external user.
However, sometimes the internal user doesn't pick up the phone, so the
call is never placed. I need to know the results of the call so I need
to be able to either a) get

RTL8169S-32 card
Hello,
I am building a DRBD cluster with CentOS 4.4. Both nodes have
RTL8169S-32 cards, Pheenet branded.
I'm getting no more than 185 Mbps with the driver selected at
installation (r8169). Downloading Realtek's r1000 climbs to some
amazing 200Mbps. I am measuring performance with iperf, host to host,
with a cat5e direct cable some 2.5ft long.
Maybe disk I/O will be the bottleneck in my use case but anyway I feel
performance is well under par with this cards.
Is something wrong in my measuring setup? Am I right...

Page Request
...single page like:
http://wiki.centos.org/HardwareList/RealTekRTL8111b
Would work with links to both CentOS 4 *and* CentOS 5? However, if the wiki
admins want two pages, that'll be fine too.
Can you also give write access to BillScheel since he's the author of the
related CentOS 5 Realtek r1000 page?
Thanks,

Problem with RTL-8110SC/8169SC Gigabit Ethernet
Hi guys;
I'm having a problem with a new pc that has an Realtec ethernet device.
Don't know why the driver is not loading and is not detected during
installation process.
I tried to load r8169.ko unsuccessfully. It load but no device is
detected. No dmesg or /var/log/message.
?Any help on how I can configure correctly this ethernet device?

CentOS 5 ssloooowww when network unavailable
This is undoubtedly an upstream issue, but ...
I've been messing about with that hp pavilion trying to get wireless
working. If I boot with the eth0 NIC plugged in, everything is
blazingly fast -- GDM comes up in a few seconds, the Gnome startup
splash screen barely has time to appear before it's gone again, shells
pop up the instant I click Open Terminal.
If I unplug the network and

centos on intel D945GCLF board
Hi,
I am trying to install centos on the intel D945GCLF board. It's a
mini-ITX board with the atom processor and it uses the Realtek RTL8102EL
LAN chipset. When I disable the on-board LAN card it installs and runs
OK, but when I enable it, I get kernel panic at boot.
The board runs perfectlj with Fedora 9 (with the latest kernel) or with
Ubuntu server.
My question is: is there some way
