Simple windows application not quite working
I am trying a popular simple educational windows application on Ubuntu (8.10) and Wine 1.1.12.
The application is called Atoumath (simple application to test metal calculation capabilities: http://www.kervenec.net/atoumath/telecharge.php). Sorry it is a french application but it is quite easy to install and use.
I am able to install and run the application with Wine but some of the UI is not

Playing online game
Hi,
I'm new to all things 'Wine' so I'm hoping for some help. Unfortunately
all I've got is a long terminal output which doesn't mean a lot to me.
I've attached it below. I'm sorry it's so long.
the two problems manifest themselves in this way:
1. The icons on the program don't all show. (some do!)
2. It cannot connect to the internet web site.

[PATCH] qemu-dm monitor doesn''t support the quit command
Hi All,
It is natural that there is quit command in original QEMU.
However, I don''t think that the HVM domain on Xen is necessary.
Because there is a possibility of shutting down GuestOS due to the mistake.
I think that I should prohibit the quit command of qemu-dm.
Thanks

.Internal(quit(...)): system call failed: Cannot allocate memory
Dear R-developers,
Some of the more fat scripts (50+ GB mem used by R) that I am running,
when they finish they do quit with q("no", status=0)
Quite often it happens that there is an extra stderr output produced
at the very end which looks like this:
Warning message:
In .Internal(quit(save, status, runLast)) :
system call failed: Cannot allocate memory
Is there any way to avoid this

v2.8.1 crashes on quit(save="yes") or just won't save (PR#13612)
Full_Name: Anne Gilman
Version: 2.8.1
OS: Mac OS X 10.4.11
Submission from: (NULL) (132.177.75.245)
Dear R Team,
Today I upgraded from R 2.2.2 to 2.8.1 ...then I restarted, did a bunch of
work, and tried to quit. (Note that I have oodles of stuff saved in the work
environment; took almost a full minute to start up.) After over 10 minutes, it
was still trying to close up, and the problem

How to exit from console?
Hi, all
Stupid question, but how do you exit asterisk console without stopping
the asterisk?
Tried quit and exit:
*CLI> exit
No such command 'exit' (type 'help' for help)
*CLI> quit
No such command 'quit' (type 'help' for help)
*CLI>
Any other ideas?
I started asterisk with -cvvvvg option. Same problem if use asterisk

.Internal(quit(...)): system call failed: Cannot allocate memory
The call to system() probably is an internal call used to delete the
session's tempdir(). This sort of failure means that a potentially large
amount of disk space is not being recovered when R is done. Perhaps
R_CleanTempDir() could call R_unlink() instead of having a subprocess call
'rm -rf ...'. Then it could also issue a specific warning if it was
impossible to delete all of

per-connection sshd doesn't always pass on SIGQUIT
Hey.
I've noticed the following behavior and wondered whether it's possibly
a bug or why it behaves like this:
When having a SSH connection, than it seems there may be two sshd
processes for that, one running as root the other as the user. As far
as I know this is because of privilege separation, like e.g.:
??sshd(2931)???sshd(10174)???bash(10180)

options("quit.with.no.save"), and Windows installer changes
I've just committed a couple of changes to R-devel related to requests
at userR about the Windows installer. The first of these affects all
platforms, but I've only tested it on Windows:
I added an option "quit.with.no.save". If TRUE, then the default
q("ask") prompt will not offer to save the workspace. This is in
response to the observation that new users who

problem quitting
Many thanks to Peter and Brian for their help; it was indeed a permissions problem; thanks also to Josh Paulson of the RStudio team for pointing me to instructions for making the necessary changes.
But at the risk of seeming not only ungrateful and pedantic, but also off-topic, can I point out that all this strictly only answers part of my question, which was "why **all of a sudden** I

Cannot quit R - fame package issue?
Hello list member:
I've recently had a problem in that I'm unable to quit an R Session. I
noticed this after the update to 2.8.0, but I believe I also noticed it
on another machine, in the previous version. It occurs on both linux
and Mac platforms. It only occurs when I start R in some particular
workspaces that have alot of objects in them; it does not occur if I
start R in an

dovecot testinstallation does not tell how to quit
I am having problems logging in with RoundCube, so thought I should see
if there were instructions for testing Dovecot login, and sure enough I
found some at:
wiki.dovecot.org/Testinstallation
Well it works, so the problem is probably all RoundCube's, but this wiki
page is missing an important line about how to end the Telnet session
without killing Telnet! What is the quit/exit

locator() via tcltk
Hello,
I'm trying to write a function using tcltk to interactively modify a plot
and gather locator() data. I've read Peter's articles in Rnews, the help
pages in tcltk, http://bioinf.wehi.edu.au/~wettenhall/RTclTkExamples/,
plus a post in R-help sometime ago, but haven't found a solution.
The idea goes something like this:
require(tcltk)
testplot <- function() {
