tcpdump loses lots of packets
...p file. First I was writing to the
disk, and thought it might be a bottleneck, so I tried to write to
/dev/shm. You'll see I've also increased the buffer size with -B, but
none of this helps.
The packet rate is also not that high. From the sending side, this is
what I have:
# tcpreplay -i qtx:p1p1 5min.pcap
Actual: 6882162 packets (620533334 bytes) sent in 317.08 seconds.
Rated: 1951900.0 Bps, 15.61 Mbps, 21648.97 pps
Flows: 4254416 flows, 13382.96 fps, 6882162 flow packets, 0 non-flow
This is a very modest rate.
Any ideas why tcpdump loses so many packets? And how to make it do bette...

If I send packets without qtx, like this:
tcpreplay -i p1p1 5min.pcap
then tcpdump on the receiving box has no problem, and keeps up happily
with the queries, and receives all of them into the pcap file. It seems
like the qtx module is somehow interfering with the packet capture,...

(no subject)
Hi guys. I downloaded the xiph-qt-win32-0.1.5.zip file from your website. I unzipped and placed the .qtx file in C:\Program Files\Quicktime\QTCompenents. It doesn't install anything. There's no .exe file for it, and even if there shouldn't be, iTunes won't play .FLAC files or even .ogg files. Am I missing something here? I can't see an installation process. Is it possible to play t...

Breakthrugh for Qtcomponents dev?
Finally something is happening with the Ogg Vorbis QuickTime plugin.
Today a post on the projects forum enlightened the future for Ogg
Vorbis on the mac platform.
“publius” wrote this:
“Some profiling of oggvorbis.qtx indicated that the lion's share of CPU
time was spent inside, of all places, QuickTime itself - but being

XiphQT Installer for Microsoft Windows Created
In the greatest tradition of Next > Next > Next > Next > Next > Next,
the Xiph.Org Foundation releases an Installer for the Xiph Quicktime

Before I upload it to //xiph.org I would appreciate if someone would
test it for me. The implementation is simple, and I did test it, but
better safe than sorry.

samba as pdc in Ubuntu dapper, fails on ps$ join?
Hola,
I've done everything as correct as I can see in smb.conf under fresh ubuntu 6.06 fully
updated install to have it run as a PDC on hostname florentine, domain DAVEYST.
There are no testparm errors.
I've added users with useradd and smbpasswd -a
I've added machines with useradd and smbpasswd -a -m
I can see the server in my network neighbourhood and access/browse folders on
