How to PVUSB with xen-sources-2.6.34-r4 and xen-4.1.1 on gentoo
...XP 32 bits.
I PCI passthrugh the whole USB-2.0 controler to the domU to gain access to my wifi dongle and everything works fine and stable.
However, I''ve got an USB drive that I want to use on my dom0 wich requires USB-2.0 too and then cannot use anymore the PCI passthrugh method but the PVUSB method.
Here is the problem, creating the virtual USB controler and attaching the dongle to this controler works and in domU lsusb shows both the controler and the dongle but as soon as I try to up the wlan device, dom0 crash.
Does anybody have any succes with PVUSB on PV domUs and how?
Any ideas...

PV USB Use Case for Xen 4.x
Good Afternoon. My colleague Stefan (sstan) was asked on the IRC
channel to provide our use case for PV USB in our environment. This is
possible with the current xm stack but not available with the xl stack.
Currently we use PVUSB to attach a USB Smartcard reader through our dom0
(SLES 11 SP1) running on an HP Blade Server with the Token mounted on an
internal USB Port to our domU CA server (SLES 11)
The config file syntax is broken so we have to manually attach (I have
it scripted) whenever our hosts reboot (which is almos...

I''ve read that the PVUSB performance is up to about 60% of native 2.0, but still better than the qemu 1.1 pass thru. Unfortunately, I can''t find any documentation online about h...

Problems with PVUSB drivers
Hello,
I''ve got xen 4.1.0 running on a fedora 2.6.32.40 dom0 kernel. I have a

applied the pvusb driver patch to my kernel which I got here:

When I run

Problem with patching kernel with PVUSB patch
Hello, I have a problem with patching kernel 2.6-2.6.32.
I'm trying to add PVUSB [1] support in Xen. According to [1] I should add a patch [2] to kernel. I was trying to do it with steps described in [3].
I had to make some changes in the patch file because in the meantime some other changes appeared. After my changes the patch file looks like [4].

[RFC PATCH v01] Xen PVSCSI drivers for pvops xen/stable-2.6.32.x kernel
Hello,
http://pasik.reaktio.net/xen/patches/xen-pvscsi-drivers-linux-2.6.32.27-pvops-v01.diff
This is the first version of Xen PVSCSI drivers, both the scsiback backend and
scsifront frontend, ported from Novell SLES11SP1 2.6.32 Xenlinux kernel to
pvops xen/stable-2.6.32.x branch.
At the moment it''s *only* compile-tested with the latest xen/stable-2.6.32.x
git kernel as of today

PVUSB and CentOS 6.4
...e just been testing the Xen repo that has just been added to CentOS6.4.
I have a pretty standard install (after following the quickstart -
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Xen/Xen4QuickStart) with
3.4.54-8.el6.centos.alt.x86_64 kernel.
From what I can tell the usbback and usbfront kernel modules for PVUSB are
not present in this kernel.
How should I go about adding them? The links to kernel patches on
http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/Xen_USB_Passthrough seem to be for old kernel
versions and there is little knowledge that I have found elsewhere.
Is there an easier way to add USB 2.0 passthrough without pas...

scsi passthrough in pvops kernel
pvscsi appears to be missing from the pvops kernel. Is there a specific
reason for this or has it just not been done yet?

usbpassthrough of xen-4.1.2
...emu-dm usb1.1 emulation,
by specifying "usb = 1" and "usbdevice = host:xxxx:yyyy". But, the mouse
could work, the keyboard and usb storage failed.
If I change the guest OS to winXP, it is surprising that only the usb
storage can be detected in the guest.
I have also tried the PVUSB, it didn''t work either.
I am confused and don''t know how to resolve it. Could anyone help me?
Great thanks!

Xen 4.3 release planning proposal
Hello everyone! With the completion of our first few release candidates
for 4.2, it''s time to look forward and start planning for the 4.3
release. I''ve volunteered to step up and help coordinate the release
for this cycle.
The 4.2 release cycle this time has been nearly a year and a half.
One of the problems with having such a long release is that people who

Last thing, the usb-add commands are related to pvusb?

2.6.31 xenified kernel - not ready for production
Hi,
I just want to know if somebody use 2.6.31.4 xenified kernel (aka
OpenSUSE) in production?
We have been testing it on new Nehalem Xeon server for few weeks w/o
any problem.
But as soon we tried it on production machine - after several
production domUs started - hard OS failure.
We had to switch back to 2.6.18.8 - xen stock kernel.
