AIC for tweedie glm
Dear R-users, I'm trying to model some data using a tweedie GLM approach. My response variable is the number of pupae that are the offspring of a subordinate wasp on a wasp's nest. However, they're not count data- for each nest, I only know the mean number of pupae per subordinate, which is continous. The data also contain a high proportion of zeros. I'm not very experienced at statistical modelling,...

imq or ingress+htb?
Todays quick question: Ive had problems with imq and getting my setup to work as planned. Im thinking that a better solution for shaping incoming traffic would be to put a little limit in the outer interface of the router box with ingress, and the shape traffic on the inner interface with htb. Would that be better than using imq? -- Patrick Petersen <lartc@schmakk.dk>

IMQ & iptables 1.2.9
Hi all, I found in http://trash.net/~kaber/imq/index.html#sources the precompiled iptables shared libs for 1.2.6 & 1.2.5, but my version is 1.2.9 (in Debian Sid) and I don''t know how to patch the .deb file. I need the -j IMQ target... ¿What can I do? Thanks!

Selectively filtering traffic in/out to common threshold
Hello again all, Question: I have a number of users, who need to be shaped at different rates. My question is this: Is there a way that I can shape both *inbound* and *outbound* traffic to not exceed a single threshold, ie. they can get x kbps traffic in or x kbps out, but no more than x kbps in/out combined? Best Regards, -AL.

Routing through dummy interfaces?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have a linux system with 4 ethernet interfaces, eth0 goes to the internet, eth1, eth2, and eth3 are NAT''d LANs. I want to use an ingress filter to prioritize bandwidth (downstream from internet) to various IPs. I want to sett it up something like this.... eth0 <--[NAT]--> dummy0 <---> dummy1 <---> eth1,eth2,eth3 dummy1

Little problem with IMQ
When I try to put all incoming traffic to IMQ on PREROUTING I can''t discern traffic to LAN and traffic to server. When I try to put only INPUT traffic to IMQ... I can''t discern traffic from LAN and from internet. Help me plizz to put all incoming traffic to one IMQ device and all outcoming to other IMQ device and (it''s very important) discern traffic to clients and

How to do network emulation on incoming traffic?
I''m trying to simulate a satellite link to a Linux server to test application performance. I haven''t used any of the tc stuff before, but I blandly assured people it would be "easy" to set up a simulated long thin pipe on a spare network interface. However, now that I''m exploring, it''s proving quite difficult. Let me start with the general question

New IMQ device implementation supporting device EOS
Hello All Its first time i posting to this mail list :). I have done something (maybe) important. I write new IMQ device driver based from Martin Devera and Patrick McHardy implementation with device EOS support. My current implementation supporting only egress trafic shaping and kernel 2.4.25. For more details, source and examples have look at my page http://hyperfighter.jinak.cz/qos Ill

Scheduler Mechnisms!
Hello, Normally, in addition to such qdisc scheduler mechanisms as FIFO, PQ, WRR, WFQ, are there any more? Then, there is a confusion on scheduler in Linux enviroment: Assume there is a qdisc, such as RED as a leaf qdisc in a router, we know, if there is packet which want to enqueue the packet, the Function red_enqueue is called, but when the packet leave the queue(when the Function red_dequeue

IMQ Stability
Hello all, I have been doing a lot of archive searching over the last week reading posts on IMQ and it''s apparent stability / instability. I have seen a number of posts about it not being maintained as well. Can anyone talk to me about IMQ''s stability in a heavy throughput environment (20 Mbps) and what was causing IMQ to fail if you know. Thanks, Mike
