1950's UK rotary dial phone
Folks, I've got one of those GPO 1950's rotary dial phones that I'm trying to get working in the UK. I've got pretty much everything working with my TDM400, the phone rings and I can receive calls but I cannot dial with the rotary dialer. I have set pulsedial=true or whatever the exact setting is and I can dial from the phone by lifting the receiver and tapping out the number on the hook. However, using the rotary dialer does not work (works fine plugged into my phone line). I have read about the possibilty that the pulse settings may need adjusting...

international calling via POTS in Russia
Hi, I'm having a problem calling international numbers with debian's Asterisk 1.0.7 w/ zaptel 1.0.9 in Moscow. Russia doesn't seem to have touchtone dialing, so pulsedial is enabled on my TDM400P interface. Local numbers work fine, but when it comes to long distance or international, I'm lost. The prefix for these should be 8 (wait for dialtone) 10 (country code) (city code) (phone number). I've tried with 8w10, 8p10 and even Dial(Zap/g1/8||D(10${PHONENUM...

Zap channels in AU hanging up on STD pips
Is anyone having/had a problem with a TDM400P card hanging up on STD outbound calls as soon as the called party answers. I'm guessing that * is responding to the STD pips in some way. -- Howard. ztcfg seg faulting
...xsks signalling (fxsks=1). Everything worked fine and I was able to make inbound and outbound calls to/from the PSTN, the only issue being that some exchanges wouldn't handle the dtmf signalling, but I put that down to a peculiarity with some AU exchanges and I was able to overcome it by using pulsedial signalling. Anyway, I thought I would next slip in a PCI USB card so that I could use the USB analogue converter thingy, so I stop the * box and drop in the card and reboot. At this stage I hadn't adjusted /etc/zaptel.conf to cater for the extra channel, but when I rebooted the box ztcfg su...

I'm curious as to what versions of everything you are using. Reason being this line " -- DAHDI/i1/00256312261627-1 is proceeding passing it to SIP/5000-00000000". It states "DAHDI/i1/00256312261627-1..." and I don't recall seeing that before (my 2.4.0 says " -- DAHDI/1-1 is proceeding passing it to SIP/801-0000000c" [1-1 being the span and channel

Configuring TDM400 in Australia
Hi, all I have installed TDM400 with 1 FXS and 1 FXP ports. Now I am goig through documentation on how to configure it. It mentions 3 protocols: Loopstart, Groundstart and Koolstart. Which one do I use? Can someone send me sample zaptel.conf file for Australia? This will save me some time and will be used as a working example. Thanks, Rudolf
