Update second pulldown menu based on first menu selection?
I know I''ve seen this somewhere on this board and just can''t search it anymore. I have three relational tables: clients, projects, and tasks. Currently I''m working on customizing the ''new/edit'' task _form. So far I have it listing clients in a pulldown menu so I can assign the new task to a client. I''d like to have a second pulldown select menu that would list the projects for the selected client though. Each time I select a different client in the first pulldown the second pulldown should automatically list the related projects for...

Creating pulldowns using loops
Creating looped pulldowns in PHP is simple so I can''t figure out why it seems to elude me in RoR. I want to create a simple pulldown list with the options and values "1" through "14." I have been trying to accomplish this with the .upto method like so: --START RHTML CODE-- <% options_ar...

[Ubuntu 10.10/wine 1.3.16] Nonexistent printers in pulldown
The applications I run under wine (e.g., Quicken 2007, notepad) list "nonexistent" printers in their printer selection pulldown lists. Of the eight or ten listed, only two are really configured on my system. It appears that the wine list contains residue from previous installations / deinstallations of printers, which I had done via the cups configuration tool (system-config-printer 1.2.3) My cups config file shows jus...

Re: [Ubuntu 10.10/wine 1.3.16] Nonexistent printers in pulldown
It seems this is general..at least I am having the same issues. I guess there are not many people printing from wine applications.. Did you make any progress in getting the entries deleted? The entries are in at least the following registry files: ~/.wine/user.reg ~/.wine/system.reg

creating a pulldown entry on the fly
My first ROR app is coming along nicely. This is definately a agile env. One of my last issues before inhouse deployment is creating pulldown entries on the fly. In particular, I''m writing a job tracking app for my company. We mostly do jobs for the same customers (law firms), so I have a pull down of law firms which is populated from a law_firms table. i.e assume only 2 tables for now: jobs and law firms. On the jobs new/ed...

Trying to create pulldown select menu for US State form fiel
I noticed there is a country_select. Is there anything like us_state_select maybe? More specifically - I''m wondering if I manually have to populate an array with all the U.S. state abbreviations so users can select which state they live in while entering their mailing address. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

discard_year => true
Hi All I''m attempting to make a simple time select field so I thought I just needed a datetime_select with the option :discard_year => true. However, every ''discard'' option except discard_year seems to work. So I''m left with a year, hour and minute to select. Could anyone please point me in the right direction? Much appreciated. multiscreen
...p you need to start two compiz sessions as such: $ DISPLAY=:0.0 compiz --replace $ DISPLAY=:0.1 compiz --replace What makes this all so strange is that even when one starts only the first one and leaves the second screen unmanaged my compiz, the compiz configuration settings manager still shows a pulldown for both screens in the upper left. What's more, if one does start two compiz managers, the settings changes made only affects the one screen despite what the screen pulldown in the upper left says and one has to stop the settings manager on screen 0 and start it on screen 1 to make any change...

A/V sync. problems with NTSC DVD source
...he audio is clearly superior to MP3 audio. However, I'm having serious troubles encoding NTSC DVDs and getting the video and audio durations to match. I read some messages on this list about such problems and so what I am doing is: * Using mencoder to encode the DVD to a raw YUV file, with pulldown, and PCM audio. I've set the output frame rate to 23.976, which I believe is correct for an inverse-telecined NTSC movie. * Using mplayer to play the YUV file into a raw YUV FIFO, as required by the theora encoder. Using another instance of mplayer to play the PCM audio into a WAV FIFO. * R...

nOOb question: How to use find_all with form input data
...ql::Error: #42S22Unknown column ''category_id11'' in ''where clause'': SELECT * FROM items WHERE (category_id11) The controller seems to be getting the correct data, but my key and value seem to be mashed together(it''s mashed-hash? ) I''m using a pulldown box that contains a list of the categories. I''ve tried some simple variations, but can''t seem to get it. It has to be something silly. I included the form code at the bottom. Here''s the controller: def listItemsInCategory @items = Item.find_all(params[:item]) e...

White space being removed from "Programlisting" elements
Good Morning Mike, I''m finding that when I load a document, XXE is blindly removing all "superfluous" white space from "programlisting" elements. This of course is leading to a real mess (check out the FAQ on the web site :-( ). What can I do to avoid this? -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \

ast package?
According to the extremely helpful reference card for time series analysis provided at: http://cran.r-project.org/doc/contrib/Ricci-refcard-ts.pdf, the ast package is necessary to perform some of the functions. Where can this package be installed from, as I cannot find it from my pulldown list, nor can I find it on the web? Thanks. Maia [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Update problem? Rcmdr disappears, won't re-open
...om 2.10.1 back into the 2.10.0 folder, then copied them and all the others I've previously added from the 2.10.0 folder and pasted them back into 2.10.1's appropriate folder. Is this the source of my troubles? I am trying unsuccessfully to open RcmdrPlugin.IPSUR from within Rcmdr, via the pulldown tools menu. It insists I restart Rcmdr, which I let happen, then Rcmdr doesn't restart, and then I can not restart it using R's package loading function either. Please excuse the vast amount of text, below - I don't know what is and isn't relevant. Brian --------------------------...

I've attached the figure thus generated in pdf form for your kind consideration. Specifically, how can I modify the specifications in the command to produc...

CentOS 7 Gnome
I installed CentOS 7 from the DVD iso file: CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-1503-01.iso Yum update was used (with no update issues) to install and update many packages. The installer is significantly different from CentOS 6 where one can basicallychoose to "install everything" if one has the patience to check all productsand all software options within those categories.?
