Hello everyone! I''m thinking of the right way to store tmp/ directory of Rails 1.1 project in Subversion. It has cache, session and sockets subdirectories. To me, it looks good to have svn delete tmp/* svn propset svn:ignore "*" tmp So it will ignore all directories and files in tmp/. Even if you create sessions/ and put some files in it, tmp/ content is still ignored. ...;m currently using SVN for writing some docs with LaTeX, and I wonder how I could possible tell SVN to ignore all *.log, *.aux and *.dvi files. I know how it can be done for one at a time. Let's say my files are in the docs/ directory. Hi, I''m new at rails and am in the midst of deploying my first app to a test server. The app was developed on windows. I used Capistrano to deploy, and found a few issues: 1) I must chmod 755 dispatch.cgi each time I deploy 2) script/parse/reaper also doesn''t have the executable attributes so the deployment fails. 3) database.yml as checked out from svn isn''t

I just setup switchtower and I am very happy with it. Just one thing is giving me some headache: My development machine is windows and my deployment host is Unix. Each time I deploy I need to make dispatch.fcgi executable. I wrote my own task for that. But does there exist any smarter way to get this automated ? Hi all: I am considering using edge rails so I can use join tables. I want to use svn:externals to manage edge rails, however I want to understand it more before I go and set everything up. so everytime I commit my app it will pull the most recent version of rails from the svn repository, right? What if the current version of rails is unstable, is there a way to rollback edgerails and NOT my app?
