validate() with has_many association
I''m creating a simple portfolio site for a painter. I have a painting and an image model with following relationship: Painting has_many :images Image belongs_to :painting On the edit screen the user can edit the Painting data as well as upload pictures for a thumbnails and full size image. Windoze workstation hangs accessing certain files on the Samba Share.
I'm configuring Samba 2.0.3 for win95/98 clients (~20 workstations) and everything was going great for the first 10 or 12. Now when I access certain subdirectories of my share from the Win machine, everything nearly hangs. I say nearly because the mouse will still move sort of. It creeps along at about a pixel a second. It continues to get worse until I just have to cold boot the workstation.

Looking for a set of definitive answers (long)
Question: We recently moved to a Samba-based file server, which holds mission- critical data on it (.dbf files used by our Accounting software, etc.) The goal was to create a file server that had excellent performance while providing Volume Management, but we felt that something like Veritas was overkill for our needs. Design Goals: - Redundant Hardware - Manual Failover (this was an

MWI indicator HINT on Snom thru IAX?
I have many remote locations that dial into a central server to retrieve voicemail via IAX. Outbound calls are handled as SIP calls from a Snom to a local (to them) Asterisk server that dials the main server thru IAX. I have trained them to check their voicemail via the emailed WAV file, however some of them are, how shall I put it, idiots*, and insist that they *have* to have the MWI indicator

Fwd: rsync and unlink permission
Hello list, I have a apache documentroot with ownership root.www-data and mode 755 Now I have a /var/www/index.html and chown'd that file to user "foo". Sincen "foo" has no write permission under /var/www, he cannot rsync from remote server to the local filesystem because rsync will try to make temp file and unlink the original file before writing over it. Is there any

getent not working after installing firewall (SOLVED)
...it had something to do with the gateway setting was correct. Apparently this setting is entangled in lots of other things and simply having the AD/DC's gateway and a domain member's gateway set correctly is not enough. Rebooting everything, with the correct gateway configured in dhcpd.conf, propigates the correct settings throughout. Thanks all for your patience and feedback. With respect to the continued thread about firewalls and devices, I quite agree with the critiques about their expense and complexity. I have been doing just fine for years using iptables in my Internet-facing servers....

sendmail/RPM question
Hi all - I've got a regular problem that i've been fixing by hand for a long time but i'm hoping i can get some advice about the right way to solve it. I replace the default redhat/centos sendmail configuration files with my own set. I have always just done this by hand. One thing I do is completely whack submit.cf. when i update the system, RPM recreates this file. I've

Caller Name: Asterisk reading too fast
I asked my telco to release caller name on the PRI. Earlier they were releasing only the phone number. I still did not see the name, but only the number in caller id. Actually I now see number twice. When I inquired with them this is the response I got: "I ran a trace on your TG. I see that your switch is picking up the call so fast that it is not able to pick up the name. The

I've a good configuration so it's not the fault of my pc. Second, no network connexion is available. Can I make it works ?
