need feedback on OGG info page
Hi! While vorbisizing our web site, I also wrote an information page about OGG Vorbis in order to help our visitors to both understand what OGG is all about and learn how to (easily) play our and others .ogg files. Since English is not my native language, I could use some help/feedback/proofreading on that page. What I want in the end is understandable, plain English (that can also be understood

arrows: no vectors for "code" and "angle" parameters
I was teaching new R users to make some fun graphs. I had some arrows examples worked up we came across a problem. The arrows function ignores 2nd and following elements of vectors given as code an angle. Would you please consider 1) allowing vectors for code and angle, or 2) returning an error or warning when user mistakenly supplies a vector for those parameters? When code like this is

Samba documentation team
Hello Samba developers, hello active Samba mailing list supporters, hello * During the last year I (re-)wrote a lot of HowTos and tried to clean up the Wiki in a careful way. But it still contains many outdated, unstructured and hidden content. And in the past weeks we had more and more complaints and questions about missing documentation, first start Howtos, trouble shooting guides, etc.

Echo Cancellation for silent echo signal
? ? Hi Jean-Marc, When speech is played in speaker, we are feeding that speech to echo canceller for cancelling its echo from captured data and the echo canceller work very well. But when there is no speech, we are feeding samples of value zero to speaker and the same to echo canceller. But microphone is always capturing something. But when speech is played again after these zeros(silent

[LLVMdev] Add a new llvm intrinsic?
Chandler pointed out another interpretation of C11/6.7.3.1, in which 'restrict' only addresses aliasing within a single thread. If that's the right interpretation, then it's a bug in LLVM that it moves noalias pointers across memory-ordering operations at all, and you still don't need a new fence, just a bug fix. 6.7.3.1 says "During each execution of B, ...".

Checking your package's help files
It seems that many package authors do not proofread the help installed with their packages. The Rd converter is not a parser, and it will silently produce incorrect results on incorrect input (and some correct input). Here are a few hints about some common errors: 1) When you run R CMD check you get a PDF manual at <pkg>.Rcheck/<pkg>-manual.pdf. Read through it looking for

[LLVMdev] Add a new llvm intrinsic?
Hi Jeff, Do you know if anything came of this? I understand we may need to seek clarification to get a formal answer, particularly with respect to C, but it seems pretty clear to me that this is a significant QoI issue, both for C and CL. LLVM is effectively hoisting a load above a thread-join. This may or may not technically allowed in C, but it seems generally undesirable, and it’s extremely

Hacked?
This morning, I noticed in my security email, that my entire /usr/bin directory had setuid diff's set on them. I think I've been hacked. So I installed chkrootkit from ports and ran it. It showed not infected for everything, except NETSTAT. NETSTAT showed infected... I ran chkrootkit for another machine (at my office), and it showed not infected for everything. Both machines are
