Symbolic link gets overwritten
Hi,
Using Samba 3.0.1 on SuSE Linux (follow symlinks on) we noticed the following behaviour:
A symbolic link to a file gets overwritten (replaced) by the target-file contents if the symbolic link is saved from a windows client.
This is not what we expected, because a link represents the file, and so all actions executed on the link should actually be executed on the target-file, not the link.

v3.2.0 and MS-DOS: Directories must be upper-case??
...st as a guess, it didn't help.
Below I've pasted most of my smb.conf (global + the share in question).
Note that the DOS client actually logs in on the domain, and is given
access in smb.conf and filesystem ACLs as "DOMAIN+BackMeUp" (obviously not
case-sensitive).

syncing file dates between windows nt4 and samba 3.0
Hi all,...
... currently I am trying to get hold of a strange error which is
successfully keeping me from sleeping the last week. Basically, I am

Printer sharing with 64-bit Windows clients
...For what it's worth, another server running Samba v3.4.3 with CUPS v1.3.7
has no problems with 64-bit clients (so far). I have been unable install
Samba v3.4.3 on the first server...Neither 32-bit nor 64-bit systems are
able to connect at all with v3.4.3 running on the server.
