vorbis plugin crashing xmms
I've got a song that causes the vorbis plugin for xmms to crash while reading the vorbis equivilent of id3 tags. What is the proceedure for reporting bugs like this. Do I mail the bug into this mailing list and then serve the song off of a FTP server? -ben --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this

[LLVMdev] 1 Week Before 2.0 Branch Creation
...ary tests with the last stable version of cvs that you (or check the test results to find that date). Creating the branch is a way of freezing the code. If the tree isn't stable on Monday, I will have to make a decision on how to proceed (ie. backing out changes). We may need to change our proceedures for releases in the future. This is how we have done it in the past with no problem, but LLVM is growing much more rapidly now. -Tanya

Sharing an R installation via NFS on ubuntu cluster
hi all, i want to share an R installation from a master node to several compute nodes via NFS. all nodes run ubuntu 16.04. I tried building R from source but hit a wall several times because of missing dependencies. So I am looking for something that uses the usual apt-get install proceedure, but would place the installation in the non-standard location. For context, right now I would have to

...into four and moves some functionality from one class to a new class, so in a sense that's a big change. Code-logic-wise, it does nothing at all. I will send the patch to the commits list today. Hopefully someone can look at it and decide whether to apply it. > We may need to change our proceedures for releases in the future. > This is how we have done it in the past with no problem, but LLVM is > growing much more rapidly now. In my experience, a code freeze lasts for a fair amount of time (on the order of months). The way I've seen it done in many projects is that there's...

GLM(...,start,...) question
I am trying to use the glm.nb proceedure in the new MASS library. I have count data (of snails) taken from a number of habitats (artesian springs). I want to model the abundances, including an effect of the organic content of the sediment. When I try to fit a model like: nb.model.p <- glm.nb(abundance~Organics.per.wt) I get the error message: Error: no valid set of coefficients has been

Removing the boot loader,
Hi, please advise, I attempted to use this boot loader on my new(ish) laptop to enable a boot from a USB device containing a Linux distro, however this failed and I have decided to re-partition my hard disk and install a heavier distro. The boot sequence on the laptop now runs syslinux and pxe ( which fails with error 64), causing a few seconds delay in the boot proceedure. How can I remove

SMB signing.
Hi all, Is anyone using Windows SMB signing in a production environment ? This is the signing proceedure created by setting the Registry keys EnableSecuritySignature:1, RequireSecuritySignature: 1 in the lanmanserver and lanmanworkstation parameters. I'm playing with implementing this in Samba for 3.0, but am finding that it doesn't seem to work when mixing Windows NT or Windows 2000

Ordination of feature film data question
...usty re. multivariate / ordination analysis, having done my last work 40 years ago (in plant ecology). I am interested in exploring applications of multivariate analytic approaches to data from the history of motion picture films. I'd very much appreciate any pointers as to possibly appropriate proceedures. The individual "samples" may be individual films and the measurements may be the presence and absence of actors and production personel; for example two films with many actors and / or crew in common would be located close together in the resultant ordination, while films with few or no...

Weighted Optimization
Hi All, I am trying to code an R script which gives me the time varying parameters of the NIG and GH distributions. Further, becasue I think these these time varying parameters should be more responsive to more recent observations, I would like to include a weighted likelihood estimation proceedure where the observations have an exponentially decaying weighting rather than the equal weighting

/wine question
I just got wine-9.2 for fedora 4. I wiped out my ~/.wine directory to start completely clean and installed the rpm. I took a look inside ~/.wine and there are no fake windows/dos drives at all. I ran wine without any arguments (checked manual, there seems to be only version and help, tried those later), and then ran winecfg. Still, there are no dosdevices at all. I looked in the newest

Sharing an R installation via NFS on ubuntu cluster
I can install R with sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install r-base this is not my problem, and indeed, not my question. my question was how could I share the resulting R installation over NFS? Do I have to export every location where apt-get installs a component or can I force apt-get to place the installation in a certain location? On 8 November 2017 at 17:37, Ista Zahn <istazahn at

Public switches (AXE10) not capable of handling sustained call setup bursts on E100P
Hi, I'm running a simple test from asterisk towards a public telco switch (AXE10) over E100P. Here is the test case: 1) 30 calls are setup simultainously, 20 sec ringing time. 2) no calls answers (just calling a vacant public tax office :=) 3) Each channel will continue on its own with the same proceedure: ring for 20 sec, then hangup, ring for 20 sec, and so on. Of course this leads to

A questiong about replacing my failing drive
First, I am not a RedHat or linux newbie. I simply have not had to do what I am getting ready to do, and I want to see if I am going to run into a problems... My HDA drive is failing (I can hear the occasional click from it and I am seeing Smart errors, the transfer rate is slow but all my data is there). I have 3 partitions on it, the /, /boot/ and my game servers (this is also the drive the
