Serving 120 concurrent calls
Hello, a local prison contacted us regarding some calling card solution. they need 4 E1s to serve 120 rooms in that prison. we are planning on using 4 servers to serve the calls and one for the database servers' specifications are: 2.8 Dual Core Proccessors 2 GB Ram 160 Sata Drive each server will be provided with 1 E1 card Questions are: 1- will those servers be able to handle that ammount of calls?' 2- the important issue is that they require call recording on all calls.. which means we will have to record ALL calls going out of the system .. w...

Lots of Samba (smbd) processes
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew why there would be so many Samba (smbd) processes running on my SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 system? I found an awful lot of them running, much more that what I would expect given the number of Windows PC's on the network. One of the users was having trouble accessing a file on the SCO system, and that is when I discovered this. I actually had to write a program

AOE (Ata over ethernet) troubles on xen 2.0.6
I understand that all work is going into xen3, but I had wanted to note that aoe (drivers/block/aoe) is giving me trouble on xen 2.0.6 (so we can keep and eye on xen3). Specifically I can''t see nor export AOE devices. As a quick background on AOE, it is not IP (not routable, etc), but works with broadcasts and packets to MAC addresses (see http://www.coraid.com). Cisco 7750
I have read of people attempting to do this, and I just wanted everyone to know about what we've discovered about the Cisco 7750. If you don't know what it is, it's basically a blade server. I have 1 power blade, 1 alarm processor, 2 system processing engines and 1 multi-service route processor. We just got asterisk running on this today!!! We haven't tested the T1 with it,

How many customers should one router be able to handle with this kind of QoS policy? With a P3 800MHz proccessor in a router, will I be able to implement this complex of a QoS policy and still have it handle 4,000 customers? What about 10,000? Vcpu allocation for a newly created domU
Hi all, I am having confusion regarding the way a newly created domain is allocated vcpu. Initially during dom0 creation alloc_vcpu is called to create vcpu structs for all the available cpu''s and assigned to dom0. But its not the case for domU creation. 1. So how will dom0 relinquish/share vcpu to/with a newly created domU. Does this happen as part of the shared_info page mapping??
