After updating the packages, the spool filter will have to be repaired to

Custom filters and processes can make use of this mode by setting and

Printing from Linux to Win98
I have a printer - an HP 1120c - connected to my wife's Win98 machine.
Occasionally I would like to print to that printer instead of the HP
Laserjet 4+ connected to my Linux machine. Could someone explain a
couple of things for me?
1. I am running Mandrake 6.0. When I start printtool, it complains that
it does not believe Samba is installed. Why and how do I fix?
2. I ignore the message and setup the printer anyway. Print jobs appear
to spool, but never get there. I've done a couple of quick sniffer
traces and I see traffic, but I can't pinpoint the problem. I CAN prin...

On a similar topic, when I run the 'printtool' command,

can anyone shed any light on this?????

Print Issue with HP 1120C
A week or so ago I posted an issue about printing from my Linux/Samba
2.0.5a box to a Win98 print queue that ends up at an HP Deskjet 1120C. I
have since managed to enable printing, however only in PostScript mode
(I am using the RedHat printtool util to test). PostScript looks pretty
darn good, however sending an ascii job to the queue results in the
printed line "If this is all you see, try enabling 'LF->CR/LF'
translation in printtool." which we have all seen before (right?).
Problem is, it is already enabled. It see...

Best Printer Setup
Hi,
I've been toying with the idea of using the Linux machine as a print
server. I'm using RedHat 5.2 and Samba 2.0.3. I already have one remote
printer share working... but I can't figure out where the PrintTool in
RedHat is storing the remote printers IP address. Anyone know where? :)
(not important just bugging me - I hate when OS's hide stuff)
I have the Samba book (which is a very excellent guide) but I've
noticed it skims lightly on printers. Can someone give some pointers on
what met...
