Issue with printer sharing
Hi list,
I just set up a print server using Samba 4 as a domain member.
I successfully uploaded drivers to the server (through
printmanagement.msc). A test machine has been able to print through the
server but I'm unable to access preference page of the printer in
printmanagement.msc (preference page is fine on client). RSAT keep
saying that the driver isn't installed, installs it and then fails when
I try to click on "pr...

Samba 4.7 package-aware print driver
...s:
- Run Samba 4.7 and later
- Enable the spoolssd service
Also in https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_Samba_as_a_Print_Server
Support package-aware Windows drivers.
I upgraded my samba print server from 4.6.5 -> 4.7.4 (spoolssd was already enabled) and I uploaded new driver but printmanagement.msc is always showing packaged: false)
Also, in 4.7.x changelog, there is no mention about print changes.
Is package-aware features supported in 4.7.x ?
Have a nice day !
Best regards

Unable to upload printer drivers
...t i want
the print server on a domain member.
i followed all the wiki pages about setup a print server.
My printer is a Toshiba e-studio 4555CSE and i downloaded the driver
from the official web site (type 3),and i tested with others printers
randomly chosen on the net (epson, brother,...)
In printmanagement.msc i can add the server, and i can see the printer
configured in cups.
On windows side, upload seems to go fine but 2 seconds after the end of
the progress bar, I've got the message : "Impossible to install xxxx
driver, access denied"
And on print server in syslog :

unable to upload printer driver
...samba4-AD with cups.
cups works fine, i can print the testpage from cups and from a windowsclient.
but, i am not able to upload a printer driver to a samba4 print-server:
i followed this howto:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configuring_Point%27n%27Print_automatic_printer_driver_deployment
in printmanagement.msc i can add the server, and i can see the printer configuerd in cups.
Then when i try to upload the driver, i get a "access is denied" on windows and on the server i can see this :
in the syslog:
Dec 06 15:05:38 pagh smbd[1127]: [2016/12/06 15:05:38.360276, 0] ../source3/rpc_server/sp...

Solved & Thanks: Multiple Win95 usernames...
The other day I asked how to solve the problem where my NT domain username
is <PHILIPH> and my samba username is <philip>. Several replied
indicating the "username map" option in smb.conf (can't believe I missed
it). Anyway, by adding the following line to smb.conf:
usrname map = /path/to/username.map.file
and then adding the following line to the above referenced

Help needed: strange issue with share mapping at logon
Hello all,
I've run into an issue while migrating a client's Samba PDC from Debian
3.x to OpenSuSE 10.3, have been beating my head against it for over a
week, and am now turning to the mailing list for help.
We're running Samba 3.0.26a-3-1478-SUSE-SL10.3 authenticating against
OpenLDAP 2.3.37. Integration of Samba and OpenLDAP works, and importing
the 2000+ existing user accounts
