While this doesn't relate specifically to Samba, I need to do this in a netlogon .bat file in a Samba domain. In my network, I have a printer hooked to a JetDirect so that it is a TCP/IP printer. Is there a way I can automatically have this printer mapped/added when the user is logged on? -- Andrew Gaffney

...add the printer without installing. I know that it's possible to add a printer (already installed) in this kind of LAN, because I've seen it (not because of any Micro$oft KB). If start printing immediately is set, the checks do not print correctly. Hallo, I must install a separatly printerserver for our PCs, a sun with solaris 2.5. The Win95/98-PCs connect the server with samba (1.9.18p10). The server shall not ask for a password if somewhere connect the printservices. But the server allways ask for passwords, not only at the first time. No, I don't.. I'm sorry I wasn't that clear in my last mail. I'm running Samba only as file server. I haven't installed a printer so far on Samba. The printers are installed on the Windows 2000 server. This server is a Domaincontroller, File- and Printerserver. My problem is that any other pc has normal traffic rates to the samba server, but the server is very slow. One statement in the list was that this might be a "printer port monitor" issue.
