another cool use for the vorbis direct show filter
...yone might like to know that I have found a possibly undocumented use for the Ogg Vorbis direct show filter. It seems that you can specify an .ogg file as a sound source for an HTML document such as a web page. An example of this can be found at my web site, (currently under construction), at www.princenet.sytes.net. Open the page and take a look at the source code to see how I did it. It has a standard bgsound tag with the .ogg file as the source. I have also decided to promote the use of the DS filter for this purpose by placing a link to download it directly from the site. By the way, if anyon...

5.1ch decoding question
Hi. I've some question about audio-stream of OGM. I know some encoding tools, such as headac3he or BeSweet, can encode 5.1ch AC3 files into 5.1ch vorbis files, but I couldn't find any decoding tools which can decode 5.1ch vorbis files properly. Current Tobias's Ogg Direct Show filter 0.9.9.1 (and its libraries) doesn't support decoding 5.1ch vorbis, right? And if so, how can I

Speex player for Linux
Where can I find a Speex player for Linux? Is there one yet? I haven't found one, only the decoder. Or can I just set the decoder to output to the audio device? ogg vorbis and CD burning software
Has anone started a petition or email campaign to make Ahead Software and Roxio aware of the need to be able to use their software to burn oggs? I currently use Ashampoo BurnYa! Audio CD for this, but I noticed that even if you have the box checked that tells it to burn "Disk At Once," it still puts 2-second pauses between tracks on a live CD or between tracks that connect.

convert midi directly to Vorbis (Unix users enjoy)
Just thought soome of you all may be interested in this. It is a small simple Bash script that will convert a midi file to Ogg Vorbis at the quality you specify using TiMidity++ and oggenc. If you have any suggestions, feel free to either implement them or send them to me either on or off list. If you decide to implement a suggestion yourself, I would like a copy of your modified version of the

playing a specified Vorbis stream in a concatenated Ogg file
Hi. Is there currently an audio player for Linux, preferrably in text mode, that will allow me to play a specified Vorbis stream in a concatenated Ogg file? If not, is ther a player that will let me jump between the Vorbis streams similar to jumping between the tracks on a CD? If this isn't being implemented at this time, how easy would it be to implement this feature in an existing

Vorbis streaming
Hi. Can anyone tell me the best way to stream Ogg Vorbis to an Icecast2 or compatible server under Windows? I would need something that doesn't rely heavily on graphics, as I have a blind friend who wishes to be able to do this. Thanks, Lorenzo <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list,
