Cox Regression : Spline Coefficient Interpretation?
Hi, I'm using a Cox-Regression to estimate hazard rates on prepayments. I'm using the "pspline" function to face non-linearity, but I have no clue how to interpret the result. Unfortunately I did not find enough information on the "pspline" function wether in the survival package nor using google.. I got following output: * library(survival)* > > > >

CTRL-C behaviour with RODBC on Solaris2.8
After loading the RODBC package version 1.1-7, Ctrl-C changes its behaviour and is quitting R and returning to the (unix-)command prompt on the solaris2.8 platform here. Here's what happened before and after loading RODBC > for (i in 1:10^5) rnorm(10) ^C > library(RODBC) > for (i in 1:10^5) rnorm(10) ^C bash-3.00$ platform sparc-sun-solaris2.8 arch

Asterisk in a rural project
We have working in a rural project and I have selected Asterisk. Because * will work with a prepay system we need a precise answer supervision for outgoing calls. The pilot system will have 8 trunks to PSTN. The Telephone Company provides EURO BRI and analog CO trunks. On CO trunks the answer supervision is reversal polarity. The village to be served will be connected through a WLAN. Thus,

Call termination database
I've been considering doing a web based database system, where you can post your termination offerings or wanted, then search by location, price, minimum volumes, etc. I'd probably make it free, supported by advertising my consulting company, or Google Adwords, or something like that. I've got the design written down, all ready to start coding. I could probably have a prototype

Opinions on the best wholesale origination/term providers
I've been losing patience with my current provider, a small company called Sellvoip. Their termination is good, and they are asterisk based, but they are understaffed and have no concept of customer service. So I'm shopping. I am interested in the opinions of others on the providers they work with. Here are my criteria, roughly in order a) Decent quality, low latency. In

asterisk or ser
Hello: I noticed in few references that asterisk and ser and complementary. Meaning asterisk handles connections to PSTN and voicemail but SER is better for routing SIP traffic. Is anyone using just asterisk for production purpose. Meaning serving a high number of callers. Is it mandatory to use SER behind asterisk? your feedback would appreciated. -Gaid -------------- next part

"Special" link folders - Readonly attrib
Hi Everybody, I've recently installed 2.2.5 on a SuSE 8.1 box and found a discrepancy. I've scanned the whole mailing list for the problem but only found several postings claiming it not resolving it. In short: Folder links consisting of a write-protected directory with an SH (System, Hidden) "Desktop.ini" and an A (Archive) "target.lnk" don't replicate

Cox Regression : Spline Coefficient Interpretation?
Always reply to the list. I do not do private consulting. (I have cc'ed this to the list). I still think this belongs on stackexchange, not r-help. I think you need to read up on the mathematics of spline bases. My consulting story
Hi everybody, I would like to be awareabout what happened to me. Two weeks ago, on a Sunday morning a French guy called me. Ask me to fix some problems with his asterisk. After fixing his problem, he asked more and more, after 10 hours of work I ask him to pay me for the first milestone. However, lucky me that I did not finish, since he never paid me. Be afraid and take your action if some

Data Mining in Europe, please advise
Our CEO, Dr. Dan Steinberg, is planning to visit Europe in May. He would like the opportunity to introduce statisticians (and statistically minded people) to data mining, data mining applications and to forefront data mining tools. Our algorithms are probably familiar to many statisticians (CART, MARS, MART, TreeNet and RandomForests), although it isn't necessary to be a statistician to
