Packages
I need to install some geostatistics packages that are not in the binaries, for example gstat. I downloaded rm171 and installed, and I even added precomplied packages successfully. Unfortunately, I do not know how to add packages available as gstat. If you can spare a minute, could you give me a lead on this? For MacBook, best way to do R?
I'm getting a MacBook and I'd like to stick with OS X rather than convert it to Linux just yet. However, my main concern is having decent performance. What's my best option: *use the existing binary for R? *compile R fresh under OS X? * install Linux and run R under that? Does anyone have any recent experience they can share? File name determines success or failure of package installation -- please help
