free dids on goiax.com
GoIAX, the Asterisk community's free IAX provider, is offering free US
dids now. I loaded about 175 dids in and put up a very beta sign in page.
Unfortunately I had to restrict the free us/canada outbound calling back
down to toll-free only. There was a lot of war dialing and prank
calling going on. I'm working on some stuff to hopefully curb that kind
of stuff down so I can

"Groups" in XYPLOT
I'm not sure I'm barking up the right tree here, but would I need to make
use of groups to plot two separate datasets within ONE panel in xyplot? The
desired end result is a single xy plot of two separate (but similar in
values and ranges).
Full code follows, xyplot code at bottom

Automating blacklists
Hi,
I've been reading all I can on Google (and Asterisk TFOT book) looking for
ideas on how to implement an automated blacklist feature.
I would like to automatically blacklist a incoming number based on timestamp
and count information.
For example, if I get a prank call from the same number 5 times within 15
minutes, I want my dialplan to automatically blacklist this number.
Should I be

Extend logging of openssh-server - e.g. plaintext password
Also, if password-based auth is not allowed, WTF would you want to log passwords?
This whole idea is ugly, and smacks of a teenage-level prank attempt.
I would strongly object against any such modification of the main source (though I'm sure the maintainers are sane enough to never let such a crap in).
Of course the original poster is free to hack his own copy in whatever way he wants.?

[Fwd: Some interesting hashes]
Would somebody perhaps have some background on these tar files with such
interesting names? To my understanding, OpenBSD=4.1 == OpenSSHD-4.6.
Of course, this could just be a prank. Google knows about the mail
address this (presumably) came from since about mid-2007, so it
apparently has not been created just for the occasion..
Thanks in advance

Asterisk queues : command to run when a call is being bridged
Hi,
Is there any way to run a command (AGI script, whatever else) at that moment
when the call that was in the queue is being bridged to a specific agent?
An examples of what I would want to do with this is, for example, have
Asterisk ask the caller for his 4 digit customer ID before being put in the
Queue. Once I know who the caller is being connected to (which agent) I'd
run a

Right. The sequence is not at all hard to hide from such a per

Some claim that "it stops the clock" because the temp of the

percent rank by an index key?
What is the easiest way to calculate a percent rank “by” an index key?
Foe example, I have a dataset with 3 fields:
Year, State, Income ,
I wish to calculate the rank, by year, by state.
I also wish to calculate the “percent rank”, where I define percent rank as rank/n.
(n is the number of numeric data points within each date-state grouping.)
This is what I am

How do I make Asterisk login at/use VoIP provider?
Hi
please excuse if this seems obvious, but I am new to this and the SIP
section in the Asterisk handbook do not give any clues nor do the SIP
examples in there seem to represent real-world situations.
I am using Nikotel as a VoIP provider (for now) and I would like to
configure Asterisk to sign on with Nikotel so that I can use the
telephones connected to Asterisk to make calls using the

Norstar Integration with Asterisk via FXO or BRI ISDN
Hi,
I have a legacy Norstar system that I'm looking into integrating with my
Asterisk setup.
My first attempts have worked, which involves a Wildcard X100P FXO card in
the * box connected to the Internal ATA (FXS port) on the Norstar system.
Calling from SIP -> Norstar works fine, since the SIP caller initiated the
call and generally will be sane enough to hangup the phone when

amd 920824upl102 ignores the nodev option
amd from the amd-920824upl102-6.i386.rpm file distributed with RedHat
Linux 4.1 does not honor the nodev option for NFS filesystems and probably
other mount types, allowing any user access to the device files in /dev on
a system, provided that they have root access to another linux box on the
network. In addition, the default amd.conf from RH 4.1 maps /net/* to NFS
mounting, which makes the bug in
