Really Get 96 Simul Calls?
Hey guys, I'm looking for some realworld specs on somebodys machine that will work with the Digium 4-port T1/PRI card and that will support 96 simultaneous calls. Dell is soon to release the PowerEdge 1850: 2U, Dual 3.6Ghz Xenon, 1Gb DDR2 RAM, Dual 36GB Ultra320 SCSI RAID, Hot swap Powersupply, one 64bit 133Mhz PCI and one 64bit 100Mhz PCI for about $3,000. Tack on a 4 port Digium card and you have a Cisco AS5300 that can do FAR MORE for $15,000 less. I just need to know if this machine can support 96 simul calls in all kinds of configurations: Ex 1: 48 calls come into PRIs 1&2 an...

OT: proliant fedora asterisk
HP doesn't support Fedora on Proliant hw so you can't just install their ILO and get access to hw info like cpu/mb/temperature,powersupply status, fan info aso. I used the link below to get that access, which enabled me to write a small script that sends snmp-traps to hp-ovo. I did spend quite some time myself until I found this link. http://www.foo.be/cgi-bin/wiki.pl/GNULinuxCompaqProliantIML Freddi

ISPCON Mini-emergency: ATA186 Power Cube OK on SPA841?
Guess who's here to do an Asterisk demo this week without the power supply for his SPA-841. I have an ATA186 with me. Both phones use a 5v supply. Does anyone know whether the supplies are interchangeable? Thanks in advance; sorry for the noise. B.

pebcak or something else?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've set up my ups solution with a dedicated box (laptop with its own powersupply) connected to the ups, and have set up upsmon.conf to use a customized script (SHUTDOWNCMD "/usr/local/upsmonitor-files/shutdown.sh") that shuts down my ESXi boxes properly. However when ups power reaches the shutdown point, it seems that NUT promptly ignores the shutdown script and goes...

To be pedantic for a moment, the TCP connections to port 3493 are a superset of the slaves connected - the difference being tools that are monitoring but not logged in as a slave. You can get a list of slaves with the following: echo 'LIST CLIENT ups' | nc nut-server-host 3493 I though...

explorer.exe crashes on security tab access
I dont agree, its not always the application. Unstable powersupply can make applications crash or unstable graphics card or fault ram or unstable motherboard, bad hdd. .. And 1 google to provide proof for above statement, Google "Windows has blocked access to the graphics cards" that one applies for all the above options,, so it's not always the ap...

VGA passthrough nVidia NVS 295
I want to try to get VGA passthrough working in a Windows 7 x64 domU. I''m running debian squeeze/testing/unstable with Jeremy''s 2.6.32.x kernel. The best I got to work is the device showing up under Windows 7, with all resources and whatnot. I''ve applied the vga-loadbios patch and vBAR-pBAR patch to xen, and the vBAR-pBAR patch to qemu-dm. This behaviour

PRI Woes continue
System is built on a SuperMicro motherboard with Serverworks chipset, IRQ is not shared. Have a dialplan that worked for 8 months without errors, tried reverting to older release then upgraded to 1.0.3 stable release, currently running on fedora core 1 kernel 2.4.22-nptl.2199 (have tried plain jayne), telco says "it's not us", HDLC abort seems to occur when when a Zap channel hangs

Windows NUT Client - Settings description somewhere ?
...ription of how to use the settings for shutdown options in Windows NUT client ? i have successfully set up NUT on a Raspberry which gathers data from a CyberPower CP1500EPFCLCD. Have also connected 2 Windows 11 machines and one Synology device tot hat master, in order read data and to react on powersupply issues. All working fine. What i am struggeling with are the settings available in Windows NUT Client about the Shutdown options. My first trial to get the system to hibernate after a power failure was not successful. Seems to be different possible settings which may confuse each other. Is the...

Strange reboots
...ntries. I double-checked crons, any strange services, nothing suspicious. I did "yum update" recently. I went to Datacenter and waited before the monitor but during reboot I did not see anything strange. I guess reboot is cold reboot. I changed all system and cpu fans. Upgraded system powersupply with a more powerful one. Placed server infront of air-conditioner. Do you have any idea? Thanks.

Inbound call center - reliability \ scalabil ity with queues
...o more than 15 agents logged in at a time. We need to be able to support 60-70 simultaneous calls initially and we have to be able to do this reliably. We also need to be able to scale into the 100's of simultanous calls range. What would be the best option, to have 2 powerful machines (dual powersupply, ) with one as a hotswappable backup or have multiple machines with a sort of load balancer setup? Having multiple machines could possibly cost less, but I'm not sure how the queues and agents would be managed across multiple machines. I.e. how would the agent 'login' to each asterisk...

RE: the "cisco vs. Linux" thread
FYI this topic has been covered on the Zebra and Quagga lists - hardware processors, memory, NICs, etc - software OS (Linux, *BSD), drivers, etc I''ve been running a couple of Linux routers for about 2 years now, I''m using them as core routers so I bought a couple of rackmount "server" boxes with redundant PSUs and h/w RAID (1) for hotswap disks. I''m using

Siemens optiPoint 300
Anybody using Siemens optiPoint 300 H.323 phones? I saw a few references to them in the archives of this list, and the Wiki seems to be down. I have a chance to pick up a bunch of these, cheap. Questions: * Asterisk support? * What sort of power supplies will they need? The bunch I am looking at are surplus and have no supplies. Thanks, </edg> Ed Greenberg San Jose, CA
