Power Analysis
I am trying to do a power analysis to get the number of replicas per
treatment.
If I try to get the power it works just fine:
setn=c(2,3)
sdx=c(1.19,4.35)
power.t.test(n = setn, delta = 13.5, sd = sdx, sig.level = 0.05,power =
NULL)
If I go the other way to obtain the "n" I have problems.
sdx=c(1.19,4.35)
pow=c(.8,.8)
power.t.test(n = NULL, delta = 13.5, sd = sdx, sig.level = 0.05,

Hello:
I have an nt domain comprised of a samba/openldap pdc with windows xp sp2

Polycom 501 power over ethernet
When I bought two Polycom 501 SIP phones, I naively thought they were
Power-over-Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) because they were "powered over
ethernet." Silly me.
Polycom must have some odd voltage or funny way of injecting the
power, because the POE switch I bought for them (Netgear F@510P)
won't power them, though if I use the Polycom-supplied AC adapter and
ethernet power

Back UPS ES and data stale with disconnected device
Hello NUT Team!
I continue playing with NUT for Windows and USBHID-UPS driver I've got from Frederic to fix "Data Stale" problem.
It seems there is something wrong when Network UPS Tools service is starting with disconnected USB cable. UPSMON is writing "Data Stale" to output and continue do it infinitely, even the cable is connected back. Here is a short log:

I not sure this R code is correctly ? I would to show
the number of Sample Size at Sample Size Axis that line
draw from Power Axis (80%) from R code.
How I show this and select the most appropriate of
this power (.79955687 - 80983575).
Thank for your help and answer.

Power analysis for MANOVA?
Hello,
I have searched and failed for a program or script or method to
conduct a power analysis for a MANOVA. My interest is a fairly simple case
of 5 dependent variables and a single two-level categorical predictor
(though the categories aren't balanced).
If anybody happens to know of a script that will do this in R, I'd
love to know of it! Otherwise, I'll see about writing one

Digium TDM 400P and Dell 1750
Has anyone figured out how to power a Digium TDM 400P card in a Dell 1750
server? I opened the server and noticed that there is no access to 4 pin
power to power the card. Is there some sort of adapter that I need to
power the Digium card in a Dell Server? I see that the 1750 is listed on
the Wiki. How have others powered the TDM400P in a Dell 1750?

Measuring Real Power- Load
Hello, I've been using NUT and cacti to graph some values from our
UPS's. Unfortunately, while the APC UPS's seem to track both apparent
(complex) power % and real power %, as best I can tell NUT will only
fetch apparent power. ups.load returns apparent power, and I can't find
any key that returns real power- we need to know both. Am I missing
something? Is there a patch I can

Power of t-test in R vs. S-PLUS
Dear all,
I found a discrepancy while performing a power calculation for a two sample
t-test in R and S-PLUS, respectively.
For given values of sample number (5 each), sd (0.2) , significance level
(0.01), and a desired power (80%) I looked for the difference in means.
These values differ: 0.5488882 in R and 0.4322771 in S-PLUS (see dump
below).
Did I overlook any detail or confuse some

Updated power.t.test
Greetings,
I've tried to update the power.t.test function to allow for different sample sizes and sample variances in the case of a two-sample t test. I'd gladly update
the corresponding help page if the code is to replace the current power.t.test function. The modified power.t.test code is included below.
The changes are as follows:

Slightly OT: Generators & UPS
Hi,
Can anyone shed some light on this:
My PC's are on a separate power circuit. Each PC has its own UPS.
I have an old Honda generator. When the power goes out, I fire up the
generator. However, the UPS's still run on battery. If I connect the
PC directly to the socket and bypass the UPS, the PC works.
I was told by a UPS supplier, that the power output from the
generator was

Power Cut

supply power cut at the remote site. The power supply to the remote site
comes from battery charger that will be automatically switched in circuit
under main supply power cut but cannot provide adequate power for more than
2 hours . I am

longer sends status messages when it loses line power. I asked over on
the OpenBSD ports list and so far haven't had any luck getting this to
work again. I disabled upd at boot as was suggested and that didn't

Determining sample size from power function
Hello,
I am trying to get the power function to report the sample size rather than the power. My goal is to input a variety of values for theta and then for the power function to report the corresponding sample sizes. I haven't had much luck trying to create my own function, something along the lines of:
