Virus checker leaving "chmod of" files in samba log
Hi all, I am running a Samba 3.0.0-14.3E server on a RedHat Enterprise WS3. Here's the problem: When I am connected from my PC (Windows 2000) and run the MacAffee v4.5.1 virus scanner on the connected share, I see the following in the Samba log file (debug level=2) for what appears to be each file in the share: [2004/07/20 13:02:51, 2] smbd/open.c:open_file(250) sullivan opened file

wine not recognizing stick POV hat switches on ubuntu
Hello, I'm having a problem with my stick (Saitek ST290 Pro) under wine on ubuntu - Windows game doesn't respond at all to POV buttons. On Mandriva and debian Lenny everything works - just ubuntu gives me trouble. jstest also responds to the POV buttons. I tried playing with the DirectInput registry entry, but didn't get anywhere. Any suggestions? TIA -------------- next part

GPO for Computer/Machine not working
Hi all, I am having the same issue that is described in an older thread here: https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2018-February/213656.html The problem I am facing is that the machine accounts are not trusted in the domain (this is true for all Win 10 Systems). The issue with the computer is from my pov: Folgende herausgefilterte Gruppenrichtlinien werden nicht angewendet.

pigeonhole: naming and versioning
Hi Stephan, many thanks for all the work you do on the new sieve parts to dovecot. As a (downstream) packager I have some questions: a) pigeonhole is called a working title - will the final release be called something else like dovecot-sieve again? b) The versioning seems to go from 0.1.15 to 0.1.13. From a packager's POV it would be better to allow a natural version upgrade path.

Rating IP phones from the users POV?
Looking to outfit a 8-person office shortly and am looking for IP phone recomendations. Saw recent threads and the wiki with all kinds of suggestions and notes on configs but little on the "feel" and sound quality. I have a PolyCom SoundPointPro analog desk/speaker phone and the Cisco 7940 here. How to the other business-class phones compare, from a user's point of view, to these?

Updated krb5 rpm package altered existing krb5.conf - No go
Hi, I did an centos update from 7.4 to 7.5 and the krb5 package altered the existing and used config file! That should be a no go from my pov, as in my setup it broke some services which had a problem with the includedir line which was added. Shouldn*t there be a rpmnew config file be created instead with the new/optional/added settings? Regards . G?tz

logging messages
Hi all, I'm trying to learn R from an non-statistician's POV. I've got a statistician who uses R, but I'm the schmuck who has to integrate his R functions into an automated process. One of the things I would really like is the ability to log messages to file, specifically using syslog on a Linux box. (I also want to write messages to STDOUT based on a command-line flag, but I
