wine not recognizing stick POV hat switches on ubuntu
Hello, I'm having a problem with my stick (Saitek ST290 Pro) under wine on ubuntu - Windows game doesn't respond at all to POV buttons. On Mandriva and debian Lenny everything works - just ubuntu gives me trouble. jstest also responds to the POV buttons. I tried playing with the DirectInput registry entry, but didn't get anywhere. Any suggestions? TIA -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scru...

pigeonhole: naming and versioning
...the work you do on the new sieve parts to dovecot. As a (downstream) packager I have some questions: a) pigeonhole is called a working title - will the final release be called something else like dovecot-sieve again? b) The versioning seems to go from 0.1.15 to 0.1.13. From a packager's POV it would be better to allow a natural version upgrade path. Perhaps the version in hg is just not updated? The reason for these questions/clarifications are that Angel and I are packaging dovecot 2.x betas and matching sieve plugins for allowing more people to a broader testing before the proje...

Rating IP phones from the users POV?
Looking to outfit a 8-person office shortly and am looking for IP phone recomendations. Saw recent threads and the wiki with all kinds of suggestions and notes on configs but little on the "feel" and sound quality. I have a PolyCom SoundPointPro analog desk/speaker phone and the Cisco 7940 here. How to the other business-class phones compare, from a user's point of view, to these?

logitech stick USB/HID compliant works with linux, only 2 axis in wine
Hi all I got a usb 2-2.4: Product: Logitech Freedom 2.4 input: Logitech Logitech Freedom 2.4 as /class/input/input4 input: USB HID v1.10 Joystick [Logitech Logitech Freedom 2.4] on usb-0000:00:02.1-2.4 joystick. In linux native games (e.g. targetware ) all 4 axis x,y,rudder, throttle and POV are recognized. KDE calibrator also sees all axis and buttons properly Wine only sees 2 axis (it does see all buttons) but no rudder, throttle or POV if I run WINEDEBUG=trace+joystick wine baron.exe I get (a lot) of lines like this: trace:joystick:JSTCK_GetPosEx x: 32768, y: 32768, z: 0, r: 0, u...

Standardizing an MSR or other hypercall to get an RNG seed?
...it's not necessarily harmful to allow the Guest ring 3 code to be able to fetch randomness in that way. The hypervisor can implement rate limiting to protect against the guest using this too frequently, but this is something that you should be doing for guest ring 0 code anyway, since from the POV of the hypervisor Guest ring 0 is not necessarily any more trusted than Guest ring 3. - Ted

You can't shut down a workqueue with a pending work item on it. destroy_workqueue() will try to drain the target wq, warn if it doesn't finish in certain number of iterations and just keep trying indefinitely...

Updated krb5 rpm package altered existing krb5.conf - No go
Hi, I did an centos update from 7.4 to 7.5 and the krb5 package altered the existing and used config file! That should be a no go from my pov, as in my setup it broke some services which had a problem with the includedir line which was added. Shouldn*t there be a rpmnew config file be created instead with the new/optional/added settings? Regards . G?tz

logging messages
Hi all, I'm trying to learn R from an non-statistician's POV. I've got a statistician who uses R, but I'm the schmuck who has to integrate his R functions into an automated process. One of the things I would really like is the ability to log messages to file, specifically using syslog on a Linux box. (I also want to write messages to STDOUT based o...

Or am I missing something? Interesting point, after some googling, I think you are right, and as long as we have set "disable_plaintext_auth = yes" (and we have that) we should be fine keeping 143 open. Right? One doubt I had: "disab...
