end_modal question
Really stupid question, but have you wrapped this all in an App class? If you don''t have a wxApp subclass driving your applications then all sorts of badness would happen. > I''m writing a custom little application for my boss''s high school > football team to track there stats play by play. > > My problem is that when I start the application, it

creative VoIP blaster & *
Ok, I've googled for 15+ minutes, and have yet to find a usable answer, so I'm going to annoy everyone and ask here. I have, in my posession, a creative VoIP blaster. I have installed the fobbit LKM and I can see the device. Can I use it with asterisk in any meaningful way, shape, or form? I'd love to be able to buy an IP phone, ATA, or FXO card, but lack the funds at the moment

Selectively allowing port forwards
Hi! The current version of sshd allows to restrict keys to issue only specific commands. However, port forwarding can only be forbidden entirely. Given the following situation: A client C uses S as a POP3 server. We want to poll E-Mail via POP3 from S to A via an ssh tunnel without being asked for a password. Thus, we create a passphrase-less key pair on A, transmit the public key to S and

OT: bash script for passwd and shadow manipulation
Hi, i need to extract some information from the /etc/passwd file to be used as a command input in a mail software. My /etc/passwd looks like: k.thomas:x:1918:100:Kimaura Thomas:/home/users/k.thomas:/bin/usersh My main issue here is that the fifth field contains spaces and spanish chars with accent. I currently do not posess the skill to understand how to use cut to extract all the field. So far,

Disabling auth fallback to PAM
Hi folks, According to the wiki,? it's considered a feature of Dovecot and its ability to support multiple authentication sources that "if the password doesn't match in the first database, it checks the next one". ?) http://wiki.dovecot.org/Authentication/MultipleDatabases I think it's great that Dovecot allows auth sources to be stacked like this, but I am not sold on the

IAX for internet file transfer?
I'm dealing with an idea to exchange data in a socket connection style or a sort of ftp transfer with IAX2 as the transport medium. An IAX client on e.g. a notebook could establish a connection to any remote machine (also client) via any Asterisk Server where both clients are registered. Due to the unique properties of IAX2 one could connect quite easily to any "hidden" remote

Bringing Vista's Speech Recognition Engine to Linux via Wine
I have RSI (hurty hands) and need software for recognition of continuous speech. Linux has nothing workable. Dragon was bad even on Windows. What's needed is a Linux speech engine, so that the linux crew can get making a good GUI. So I'm trying to bring over the Vista Speech Engine. Here's my (failed) attempt: http://womblezone.blogspot.com/ I'm trying to bring it over with

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] Patch for llvm::DepthFirstIterator.h and llvm::PostOrderIterator.h
Hi, I've done all the minor changes you recommended and have attached a new patch including both files again (even if po_iterator didn't change). However: Dan Gohman schrieb: > The plural of "child" is "children"; please rename this function > accordingly. lacking user@host feature in sshd
Hi There is a feature ssh-1.2.xx posess , but openssh still doesn't have, namely in sshd_config in the option AllowUsers and DenyUsers : in ssh-1.2.xx it is possible to specify user at host.net , so specifying what users from what hosts are allowed to login , openssh (it seems) treats the whole "user at host.net" as username, so it is impossible to Allow/Deny specific users

[Bug 28095] X crash with PFIFO_CACHE_ERROR. (Nouveau on Riva TNT).
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28095 --- Comment #14 from Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> --- So by the sounds of it, we broke the display stuff at some point between pre-history (i.e. before nouveau was in mainline) and... now. I'm fairly sure that it's a fairly self-contained problem -- my NV05 TNT2 M64 works fine (or at least did recently, I think I last

where is the machine name used?
Hi All, Just a bit of PDC confusion on my part. 1) I do not give machine names a password. Am I correct? 2) I am presuming that machine names are used to limit what machine user names can have access to to the samba server. If Foo has an smb username and computer A has a machine name, but computer B does not, then Foo can enter only through computer A. Am I correct? 3) If I am correct on #2

dabbleability
i like to call this attribute "dabbleability", in the sense that anyone without preconceptions or prerequisite skills (besides posessing a brain) can pick something up and create something with it..the dabble factor is influenced holistically by the intuitive easy of use and comfortability of a system''s underlying framework. this is why artists have traditionally used macs
