Re: New Standard/Daylight time-change dates in rhel4u2 butnot centos4.2?
The laws already exist: Disturbing the peace, Misappropriation of public funds, Prohibition on unfunded mandates. What's lacking is prosecutors, judges, and juries who see the politicians as getting in the way of the statesmen and the people. To drag this back towards On Topic, it seems to me that the ntp folks might be petitioned to write up and submit to the Congress, a paper requesting them to keep their danged hands in one-another's pockets, and leave the clock alone....

Fedora change that will probably affect RHEL
This might show up twice, I think I sent it from a bad address previously. If so, please accept my apologies. In Fedora 22, one developer (and only one) decided that if the password chosen during installation wasn't of sufficient strength, the install wouldn't continue. A bug was filed, and there was also a great deal of aggravation about it on the Fedora testing list. So, it was

XP machine wont join domain
Hi I'm on ubuntu 10.04 LTS fully up to date. Am running a samba-ldap server but for some reason I can't connect a new fully updated XP machine to the domain. I've added other machines (6 months ago now, none since) successfully. I see a file /var/log/samba/log.machinename, but /var/log/samba/log.nmbd and /var/log/samba/log.smbd don't have anything of note. Using 'net rpc

help needed: Plotting step by step.
Hello, I have generated 2 Poisson processes and want to plot them on a single graph in a step by step manner in order to be able to compare them. I tried plot and biplot but it does not help, I could connect two points by hand for point graph if they were 5 or 10 I have more than 200 such point to be connected and Poisson cluster makes it difficult for me to even read them properly. Can anyone

MDS with ranking data (and transformation)
Dear Sirs and madams :-) I am trying to teach myself multidimensional scaling. To that effect I have collected a survey asking people to rank 10 philosophers and politicians according to their preference. I have collected 61 answers. The data is organized in ten columns and 61 rows. the columns are "choice_1", "choice_2", "choice_3" etc. The cells is the name of the philosopher I guess I need to put the data in some other format, e.g. wit...

...ain God is not a republican or a democrat nor is His government a democracy! - Lee Parmeter The United States is NOT a democracy, it was founded as a Republic for a specific reason, to protect Liberty for all. In contrast, a democracy insures Liberty to the majority only! It is only recently that politicians have been calling the US a democracy! Is Mongrel dead?
Is Mongrel dead? When I look at http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/wiki/News the latest news was from close to a year ago, when last version of Mongrel was released. A look at the tickets shows a rather sad picture with only two developers “evanweaver” and “luislavena” contributing to the bug fixes lately. Please understand that I am not complaining – I just want to know the situation so that I can

...ble to fully utilize the MR record the patient presents 3) if they do not already have an EMR system, this give them an entry point that addresses one of the major barriers to adoption: the cost of getting existing records into the system (patients do most of the data entry for them) 4) it gets the politicians off their backs ("98% of US physicians now accept patient''s medical records in electronic form" instead of "Physicians are slow to adopt IT...") The benefits to the RoR community include: 1) increased visibility of RoR in general (EMRs are a hot topic and I have plans...

limit bandwidth per host question
EHLO tc gurus. New to traffic control. Unfortunately, the politicians here in Denmark have decided that a PC is the same as a television set - so anyone owning a PC and internet connection of over 255 kbit/s must pay DKR 2200/year = EUR 300 = USD 400 in television licence fees :-( This is a lot of money for poor students, so we want to offer the students the *op...

...results such that the outcome is not quite as sensitive to computation with integer arithmetics? Do we have some of the maths/signal processing gurus here who could provide some clues? I may decide to postpone "fixing" this routine and proceed with my integeization quest. Just like most politicians do: Leave a mess and quietly return to business. ;) Christian --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'speex-dev-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe...

...of their users. I think shoutcast pays this as well. Recordable CDs are taxed. People are proposing media taxes on general computers, because they can play mp3s which could be pirated. Don't underestimate the lengths to which these corporations will go. > I agree with all this.. but the politicians and judges are to blame, not > the companies (which are just people, or run by them) who are trying to > pull something shady. But these corporations are also putting money into the hands of the judges and the politicians. Campaign finance is a huge issue, and to ignore it and say the p...
