nmblookup fails
I'm debugging my Samba setup using the "Troubleshooting Techniques" from Sam's Teach Yourself Samba in 24 Hours. Everything works fine up until the nmbd section. I am able to do the following correctly: nmblookup -U 127.0.0.1 __SAMBA__ nmblookup -U 127.0.0.1 POGO (the server) nmblookup -B 192.168.1.255 WIN-CLIENT (the client) but when I do nmblookup -B 192.168.1.255 POGO it fails with the message: querying POGO on 192.168.1.255 name_query failed to find name POGO I assume there is a problem with my interfaces line in the smb.conf. Currently I hav...

[LLVMdev] Building LLVM as a shared library using Visual C++ 2010?
...footprint which therefore reduces antivirus overhead, and so forth. The constant-flux aspect of the interface mostly means you can't deploy the libraries separately from the tools that use them, but so what? Logistically that's no different than how you would deliver static-linked tools. [LLVMdev] Problem with x86 32-bit debug information ?
Hi Pogo & James, Pogo, that is exactly the kind of answer I was expecting. Thanks for the time you spend on this problem. I myself did also some experimenst and found way to get what I'm expecting but I think that at least for x86 or any parameter passed on the stack for a different architecture t...

C7 apache file access
Pulling out what little hair I have here, but stumbled onto a possible problem. I have a server running C6 apache that is set up with personal directories and no problem showing the files. You can see it at: medon.htt-consult.com/~rgm/pogo So I have a C7 apache server I am building. Files I create on the new server are listing fine. Files I have copied (with cp -avr ...) get permission error e.g.: [Wed Dec 23 12:32:49.359323 2015] [negotiation:error] [pid 3208] (13)Permission denied: [client 192.168.160.20:38708] AH00686: cann...

[LLVMdev] Problem with x86 32-bit debug information ?
Hi James, I fully agree with you and understand your statement about -O2. Now some questions for you: Did you try to reproduce experiments described in my previous e-mail ? Did you look at debug informations generated for 'n' parameter on x86 32-bit & x86 64-bit ? I'm working on my own front-end for LLVM and I had difficulties with debug information when they are related to x86

Is this a bug?
In the course of tracking down a problem in Samba v2.0.4a, I set "debuglevel=3" and noticed something strange in the log file. While attempting to find the netlogon script, a number of variations on the name are tried (e.g. for Windows, it's *.COM, *.EXE, *.BAT). Here's the strangeness: the file NETLOGON"BAT is also looked for. Yes, that's a quotation mark in place

So, it's not really "all of memory" that could be poisoned, only these compiler-generated things. Pogo -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... [LLVMdev] Problem with x86 32-bit debug information ?
...hile it would be ideal to see "n=53" at the breakpoint, sometimes debug info and function prologs don't line up exactly, and stepping sometimes causes things to become more sensible. So, I think the 32-bit debug info is doing something reasonable, if not exactly what you would want. Pogo

(I've lost track of the general crypto-export-control state of things, but just a reminder that LLVM avoids anything that could possibly be export-controlled.)
