I am in need of a rather large CMS soon, and right now it seems to be use Plone or MuraveyWeb, both of which would require extensive customization. While I love RoR, Plone is definitely more mature and well rounded and has more features. The problem of cou...

Picking the right installer
Hello, Today, I was suggested to use Samba by Plone people, meaning I Hadn't heard of Samba before. It seems to be exactly what I have been looking for for some time, but I obviously am completely blank about Samba, so you will excuse my silly question, please. I want to install Samba on my server, but after over two hours searching the site, I...

CentOS4.3: Upgrade Python for Zope&Plone
Hi, I need to upgrade Python to at least 2.3.5, (but 2.4.3 would probably be better), to run Zope & Plone. Is it possible to replace the current version without breaking anything? or should I run two versions in parallel? What's the best way to go about doing this? Ben (please CC me in responses as I use digest)

Trying to build custom Python 2.4.4 RPM
I'm trying to build a custom RPM with a standalone Python 2.4.4 in the /opt directory to keep it isolated from the stock version of Python in CentOS 4.4. The end goal is to use it in conjunction with yet-to-be-built RPMS of the current versions of Zope and Plone. The spec file I've constructed allows me to build a RPM successfully, but when I try to install the RPM, it complains: error: Failed dependencies: /usr/local/bin/python is needed by python24-2.4.4-0.i386 I'm not sure if this is more of a Python or RPM issue. So, I'm hoping...

Creating a group share
Hello, I have a Samba PDC (3.x) running in a OpenSUSE 10.2 system. The authentication backend is Open LDAP. recommended way to install source rpms?
yes, i've read the online docs and followed a link or two to find a simple way to do this, such as: http://sourceware.org/systemtap/wiki/SystemTapOnCentOS so, these days, is that the canonical way to download source rpms? now, note that i'm not arguing about whether this is a good idea. in my circumstances, i want the ability to just "yum download" source rpms so that i can
